Gear and engine replacement & fixing where the prop damaged the fuselage. The Q series hold up quite well.

I think the aircraft may "get lucky" and see other trips in the sky!!

Should be fixable if the company wants... damage looks similar to the Jazz one in YEG.

Such a horrible airport and runway, I'm glad this wasn't something worse.

Just out of curiosity, what is the largest aircraft that lands and takes off at Juba?

During the year 2019 it was a 737-800, flown by FlyDubai (FZ), RwandAir (WB), Kenya (KQ) and the A320 flown by Egyptair.

Those two are also the absolute largest aircraft that can land there. Horrible infrastructure.

Larger military transports go there, and Ethiopian operate a 763 in there on behalf of the UN. It’s a 3100x45m runway, any modern aircraft would be able to land and park on the ramp just like they do for the 763.

Customs, immigration, baggage handling is a different matter all together.

I go there now and the the runway has been extended in 2016 IIRC by 706m and I’ve seen many 737/A320/IL76/767 and big Antonov movements. Lighting, signage, navaids and ATC is especially poor and unreliable. Birds are a major concern on any takeoff/landing. Huge ones around! Quite a few wrecks can be seen around the airport. It’s a busy place too with manu UN/WFP movements from small to helicopters to big Antonovs.

If the condition of the airport and runway are so bad, then shame on the airline for even operating there. Where are their safety standards?

On takeoff? What actually happened, did they reject with an engine out and skid off due to asymmetrical thrust? I don't think the distance of the runway should have been an issue - perhaps condition, but not length. Those Q400s are hot rods.
