Was Delta the only commercial airline to have a private jet sector?

No AA operated one years ago and UA either operated one for a short while or sold it off before operation began.
I know the voices in my head aren't real but sometimes their ideas are just awesome!!!

This is the second subsidiary this year Delta has dumped. Making money by selling while the market is still good?

This was a related distraction. 190 jets and only slightly profitable.... A tie up with Wheels up is better.

PanAm was big into private jets. Falcons.

I hope they have higher, better-founded expectations for ROIC in the scheduled ops business. Even more new widebodies, please, with some in a domestic F config for high capacity routes.

I wasn’t clear on the 190. It sounded more like Wheels Up will now have 190 combined. From the article:

The combination will give Wheels Up a fleet of more than 190 private aircraft and over 8,000 members and customers.

Hold on, wasn't this just a merger rather than an aquisition?

Also what was the other subsidiary?

Oil refinery is still part of Delta, but Delta has been marketing it, presumably for a similar sort of transaction. Delta becomes a minority partner in a non-core business.

JetSuite and JSX are partially owned by JetBlue, if that counts.
So... when will the Northwest DC-9s be retired?

They are selling the operations to Wheels Up and retaining a small equity stake in Wheels Up. But they won’t be running the show or majority owner of the company.

Something really feels off about this, I know I'm biased, but I want to see what comes of it all. I mean they just build the new DPJ maintenance hanger in FLL.

Same situation as DGS / Argenbright. Delta remains a significant minority owner in that business; I assume they will do the same here.
