You did indeed. There have been quite a few similar incidents this year. The GII and HS125 seem to be the courier jet of choice for narco's

Yeah there was a "zerg rush" a few weeks ago with thhe GII, a king air, a queen air and one more aircraft. I've counted about 3 HS125s destroyed in the past month in these activities. Surprisingly common.

All of these Gulfstreams on the census seem to be US-registered. Are there any flying elsewhere in the world?

Seems like they’re imported into Mexico for a short period. Only Mexico and some in South Africa are still around...maybe some in Brazil?

I caught N17LK about a year ago at PDX. Looks like it has a new owner these days.. Anyone know if she's still flying?

You can add N184PA, N186PA, N190PA and N198PA all are currently registered at Phoenix Air, however N184PA is getting a cargo door mod, N190PA heavy check and N198PA interior work at base in KVPC

27-10-2019 c/n 247 (N530GA) "A Gulfstream II jet was observed illegally entering Guatemalan airspace. The aircraft landed on a strip close to the Mexican border. Cargo was offloaded and armed men set the aircraft on fire before the Guatemalan Army arrived."

On July 2, 2019 I saw N178B, a Gulfstream IIB c/n 125 at Moses Lake. It also departed that day. It seems to be in service as a High Altitude Observatory (HALO), operated by the Missile Defense Agency.

How about N32MJ, Magic Johnson's jet? I saw her at LAX in May 2018.

I love your reference.

Place I used to work at exported N227TS to Venezuela about 10 years ago I think. The new "owners" threw us the biggest BBQ I've ever participated in. Hundreds of pounds of prime quality beef.

The next day the USAF called our dispatch asking why our GII broke into a military airspace from HIO to the mexican border. All they could say was "We just sold the airplane." Our entire shop figured it was going to be a drug runner. Havent heard anything out of it since.

SUGGESTION:

It is clear to me there are those of us who truly love the classic bizjets... I suggest making this a classic bizjets mega-thread. For example, I'd LOVE to know how many airworthy Lockheed Jetstars are left. It has to be single digits, easily.

In sadly related news, Jetstar N313JS is being retired to an Atlanta-area airport today....

Other classic bizjets that may garner interest:

North American Sabreliner
Dassault Falcon 10/20
Lear 23/24/25
Aérospatiale Corvette
The original British Aerospace 125s

I saw that. There are at least 50 Falcon 20's and maybe 15 falcon 10s still around. Those aren't terribly rare. The smaller bears are banned from the lower 48 for noise. Haven't seen a corvette and I believe there are probably 20 or so BAE's out there. Thanks.

It looks like you missed N992NA, a G-III owned and operated by NASA JSC (and based at EFD). It was used, for example, to ferry the astronauts who launched to the ISS on May 30, 2020 from Houston to KSC.
