G-CIVZ to Dublin

Sat Dec 21, 2019 10:09 am

One of BA's One World B744s is off to DUB today for repaint. Will it receive the same livery or will it be a special 747 scheme?

Its rumored to be getting a special livery. But I wouldn't bet on it until its 100% confirmed.

Any idea what time she’s due to depart LHR?

She’s just appeared on radar at T5 so won’t be long I suspect

Maybe she will get the regular BA paint scheme instead of the One World livery?

Maybe a post-brexit livery :stirthepot:

Probably just a repaint to standard crest livery, as rumour has it that 7x 777-200ER are to get the OW Livery over 2020
Must think up a new one soon, slow moving brain trying to get into gear ;)

Last I heard, they're planning on painting 3 772s in the Oneworld livery?

Seeing how the new A350s have just started arriving in full BA with crest livery and union flag wing tips it seems unlikely they would now introduce a basic Iberia style livery on an old 744 due a repaint.

Where did you get this idea? Not sure IAG have a spec any more than following fashion. Seems ofd they’re repainting a B744 this late, I though Negus was the last one to be getting a respray before they left the fleet.

The "idea" that's been bandied about as a good rumour for several years, even amongst a.netters and others ? That idea that IAG would re-livery all of it's constituent airlines into a mainly eurowhite pan IAG scheme (see Iberia, see Aer Lingus). That idea... y'know ? ;)

Other than that I've no idea why they're painting an elderly 747, and am merely joining in with the speculation already offered upthread.

Edited to add: I see it's just a standard Chatham livery re-paint... ho hum.

Whilst I concede my post is entirely speculative if not totally 'tongue in cheek', it certainly would not be the first time we've seen airlines take on modern fleet types in one livery only to reveal a brand new one a short while later (see Air Canada). BA itself has been somewhat furtive in the past with new livery projects, the Landor to Utopia transition being a good example.
