Just saw this on Twitter:
https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/27/us/wichita-kansas-plant-explosion/index.html

The damage looks bad, the article says the plant was closed for the holiday so that is about the only positive.

Local media reporting 8-9 hospitalized. https://www.kwch.com/content/news/Report-of-explosion-in-east-Wichita-566511571.html

A press avail just indicated no fatalities, which is great news. I hope the SkyCourier prototype is OK.

I wonder what building it is in? This is a photo from Textron last week according to the article. Glad to hear there are no fatalities.

How does a nitrogen tank just explode?

I work about a block away from the building - my building shook so badly I was certain it was an earthquake. Amazed and thankful there are no fatalities.

If an outlet was blocked in while the tank inlet was still receiving, an over pressure situation can happen very quickly.

The report says Beechcraft Plant 3. Do Beechcraft and Cessna share manufacturing space?

Textron owns Beech holdings (including Hawker) as well as Cessna so I would assume they would/could.

This article indicates that it was the building where the SkyCourier is in prototype assembly.

A ruptured liquid nitrogen line is quite dangerous as the cryo temps make most materials very brittle.
