Per this weeks OAG thread Delta is adding back Detroit Sacramento flights.

speaking of delta, they've recently upgauged the ATL and MSP routes to A321 aircraft. Pandemic ATL service was typically b739 while MSP was typically a mix of A319/320. I wonder if this is a response to increased demand or DL still blocking middle seats and having capacity pressure.

F9 to add two new routes out of SMF including SMF-PHX and SMF-ONT starting 2/11/21 and 3/12/21 respectively. Starting off service 2x weekly for both flights and ramping up to 4x weekly on 3/11 and 5/10 respectively.

During October 2020, SMF handled 476,349 passengers, down 58.8% on a seat capacity decline of 46.6% YoY. On a MoM basis, traffic increased by 59,741 passengers or 14.3% on an 11.0% increase in seat capacity. SMF seat capacity is projected to rise 5.8% MoM from October to November 2020.

Separately, AS will reinstate n/s SMF-SAN service 3x/day in April 2021, growing to 4x/day in May.

Interesting - this tidbit didn't attract any attention or feedback on the SAN-thread either. Quickly forgotten I guess except by a very few of us. I'm personally quite surprised and happy to see the route again and hope that things will hold together to actually get it in the air again. IMO it's a route that AS needs to serve if they still have any desire to be California's "Go To" carrier.

Besides, it looks like WN's schedule for the Spring is also about 3 daily r/t on the route as well. At least on AS pax have the choice of First Class! I for one will be following this closely.

I'm so glad AS is bringing SMF-SAN back, I had no clue why they removed that route to begin with.

In other news it looks like SMF will add its 6th Mexican destination soon according to the B6 thread with SMF-CUN service. I just found the announcement and appears to be starting March 4, 2021 for 3x weekly.
