Good news was this an old Flybe route ?

It was indeed an old Flybe route. It will also complement their IOM flights from LPL and compete with Loganair who stepped into the breach after Flybe’s collapse.

Do we know timings for these flights yet? I know from LPL they’re random depending on the day, but on some days they operate twice daily.

EasyJet will begin a 3 weekly Isle of Man service starting 26th October. Operates Mon, Thu and Fri.

App suggests they wanted 5 weekly with Wed and Sun also highlighted as flying days, but no flights bookable on them yet.

Will this be an A319? If I recall correctly the Douglas runway is long enough for upto 757/A321 sized aircraft

IOM runway is 6,923ft according to Wikipedia and will be no issue for Airbus narrowbodies, especially for short hops to LPL and MAN. For what it’s worth, I’ve been on LPL-IOM flights on A319 and A320ceo and my last flight to IOM in October last year was on an A320neo.

Could be interesting if MAN is successful against other regional UK airports.

TUI to operate bi-weekly cruise charters from Manchester to Hong Kong, Colombo and Singapore from winter 2021.

They join Muscat, Utapao and Langkawi (as well as Phuket for regular holidays) to form quite an impressive line up to Asia.

Well looks like Scottiedog got his wish

MAN-BOM 3x weekly starts 19/12/20 Mon, Wed, Sat
MAN-DEL 2x weekly starts 5/1/21 Tues and Fri

Both on 789’s.

Looks like someone else maybe crying some salty tears.
That feeling when you sit at the end of a runway, brakes are released and the raw power takes over. Now that is a thing of beauty and it never gets old.

Indeed lasted exactly as long as it was originally supposed to, its just people not reading the full history of the service and reveling in negativity.

And as for those relishing it's short lifespan, as the saying goes, better to have loved and lost, than not loved at all. In other words, it helped add to a reduced flight operation thanks to Covid, so better than no flights at all.
