He meant it hasn’t gone in for customer paint. All 787s barrels are painted white during assembly to protect the CFRP. This might not be the same white that AF uses for their fuselage.

Boeing uses a greenish protective coating on the aluminum (737, 747, 767, 777) fuselage and a white protective paint on the CFRP (787) fuselages.

Airbus uses either a mustard yellow or pale green protective covering/paint on their in-production airframes (all models).

I think the Vistara NTU frames were originally Hainan frames. Hainan comprises the bulk of the NTU aircraft, iirc 4 are not yet allocated. Those 4 were going to Vistara prior to them refusing to accept the frames as well. Biman picked up a couple that were for Hainan. I believe Avianca only had one 789 left on order and I think that has already been reallocated to another airline before being built. I'm out of the loop on the 787 due to all the covid mess, and life sort of hitting me like a freight train the last month or so, so this could all be entirely wrong.

Avianca had 3 B789 on order but only 1 was delivered (stored at Abu Dhabi) B788, LATAM getting rid of 4 B789 too

interesting picture with the heat distortion, is that a military plane behind it? almost looks like a parallel take off which it isnt, but it does look odd and cool at the same time.

G-ZBLA was sent to the paint hanger yesterday for assumed touchups. It also did 2 flights on the 12th. Delivery should be Heard it should be delivered by next week.

UA has taken delivery of five 789s in the last few months and they are all flying.... However two more, N24980/N29981, came off CHS FAL A few weeks ago and appears to be no activity with them at all... no pictures, no idea if they’re painted... this suggests UA has deferred delivery on these for a while.. Also one of the KLM‘s was supposed to fly yesterday (Wednesday) but nothing happened. We have two sitting around so it could have been either BKH or BKI. Nothing else scheduled for the week is what I have heard. A little disappointing given the fact that we have so many aircraft here.

Yeah CHS is half airport and half military. About 35 C17‘s is the number I have heard. Could be more could be less tho. Either way it’s a lot lol. Also that Westjet C-GMKS was delivered yesterday alongside G-ZBLB for BA.

I think that also Boeing staff delivers aircraft, at least at Airbus AFAIK not all Airlines pick their airplanes up with their own crews. So if KLM crews were not allowed to get there Boeing pilots could deliver the aircraft?

It’s not like KLM (or any airline) is rushing to receive new planes. Any travel restrictions is a nice excuse for the airline to defer deliveries and avoid unnecessary spending.
