The limitations of the 330t A332 F could be addressed through a A339 stretch F, presumably 351t:

To have TATL capability, needed for justifying the wingspan, I see only an A338 351t factory freighter.

The A332 didn't sell as at common payloads, they couldn't use the center fuel tank.

I see the 777x freighter going forward early. Airbus should offer a freighter at their risk.

I cannot recall when last one airline paid for full development costs of a major variant.

A KU A338 vert stab is visible on a photo near the Airbus delivery center in the A350 P/D thread. Not sure if it's the first or second frame for them.

I never understood why AB abandoned the freighter market. At 245 and 251T the A330F could have been competitive. They never raised the MTOW for some reason so the A330F ended up a compromised product.

I believe the KU fin mentioned by Devilfish is an A320neo MSN10082. The second KU A338 MSN1969 was towed back to the main Airbus ramp last week, with the fuselage still unpainted.
I do not believe there will be a market for a freighter variant of any A330neo. With the prospect of cheap(er) A330P2F conversions due to falling residual values of pax configured aircraft and KC-46 production supporting (dare one suggest subsidising) new build 767-300F sales it seems unlikely that there is space in the market for a new build A330F, nor as/for MRTT platforms in sufficient numbers. Airlines have voted for the better payload range of the bigger freighters, witness the A330Fs that came and went as 777F fleets grew and grew. An A350F would be a better investment. As mentioned in another thread, the 773P2F does not appear to have the high(er) loading densities that the general freight market uses.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't quite distinguish an A320N from an A330N based on a bit of tail section alone.

As pointed out above, it would require the 251t version and a large cargo operation to fund the development costs...while MRTTs by their very nature would be limited to a few, rich Air Forces which could afford those. So, short of Airbus finding an extremely motivated "loaded" customer(s) to co-fund its development with, the NEO freighter may remain as one of those unfulfilled roles.

First question, do either of these ever actually get delivered?

Second question, how many in the current 2020 calendar year backlog actually get delivered?

Third question, when does Airbus pull the plug or go to 6/year on the A330NEO line?

The Garuda bird will probably eventually get delivered. The Air Asia clearly won’t (at least to Air Asia). Qf789 is a little off on the description- the plane isn’t just out of the FAL, it is out of paint where the fuselage was quickly painted white. As Flee noted that is a pretty clear indication of a NTU situation (the tail and winglets are painted earlier in the production process).

Uganda Airlines in final assembly.

Great to see the KU A338 in the air and UR's A338 in final assembly. There may be a future yet for this bird in spite of COVID-19.

Is that one for AirAsia X Malaysia? DOesn't have a Thai flag on the tail like the rest of Thai AirAsia's fleet.

The white fuselage is a clear sign that this aircraft will be a NTU.

White fuselage can also be a sign of long term storage conditions.

When was the last A339 delivered?

I see much discussion on movements. When was the last A330NEO was delivered?

Nice resource. Last delivery flight I found was 2/28. The one before on 2/14 and then 1/17.

So as of tomorrow, 4 months since last A330NEO delivery.

Lightsaber

Ps (late edit):
At this time, I would bet on no further first half 2020 deliveries for the A330NEO.

With 3 days of H1 2020 left I'd say that was one of the safest bets out there ….
