A couple notes today

WN STL-IND started. 1x day outgoing 2x incoming

F9 STL-CUN started back up. I "THINK" today was the first day but not 100% sure.

Southwest released their schedule extension today.

For March everything is back except international.

Flights per day (last year)

Fri 122 (113)
Sat 99 (93)
Sun 124 (109)

Obviously this is very likely to change but for now those are nice gains.

Is southwest still planning on running only 50 flights a day in September? Where do you find this info?

Yes. I just look at the schedule on southwest and go thru every city pair, count them up and put them in a spreadsheet.

All future months are in the far right tabs and only updated for Southwest. November I haven't touched since the original release.

UA has a 777 going into BLV tomorrow. If you are over that way keep an eye out.

Flightaware showing it as a 753.

Flightradar showing 773

Looks like it goes on to Robins AFB and then over to Frankfurt and Kuwait City. That's gonna be a fun military charter.

May numbers for BLV

Down 20.34% on the month
Down 28.24% on the year

All things considered, not bad. June and July might actually be near last year if May was 80%.

Excellent!

First return of an international route under American Airlines since the closure of the 2003 Hub and reduction in 2009.

Southwest has yet to return to the market themselves looking at their December schedule too.

Good Luck to AA hope it sticks around long term!

What the actual F?
Instead of typing in "mods", consider using the report function.
Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

Anyways, I'll wish them luck...They might need it haha. F9 and WN are gonna eat them alive. I do see this flight as rather useful for me when I redeem my miles for an international trip. There is always availability to Europe and Asia via Mexico on OW.

Well as I mentioned above, Southwest isn’t flying STL CUN right now. American may see an opportunity to jump in.

Frontier shows it scheduled but it’s not letting me book the non stop at any price beginning December 19?

But WN is still flying in march when the main traffic exists, I was more thinking long term. In the short run, however, this looks like a great opportunity

They have been 1000% better in the last year. They just got a new media person who is very responsive. I assume it will be put up by tomorrow. If it isn't up by tomorrow feel free to complain. I give them a little bit of a pass on a Sunday if they weren't giving a heads up.

Oh I see! Ya, long term, but it does seem AA will have ended the route by April.

Maybe we will be surprised and they'll co-exist! Hahaha

Best of Luck to American!

I remember when it was a TWA 757 flying that route!

It has been out for a week or so but I don't think it got posted in here.

July numbers

Down 64.9% on the month
Down 57.1% on the year

Cargo up 25% on the month

Cargo continues to look good. Passenger numbers not terrible all things considered.

Also...

Nothing huge of note for the airport commission meeting on Wednesday but this does intrigue me.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
There will be a request to hold an Executive Session pursuant to the Revised Statutes of Missouri, Section 610.021(2), to discussion certain real estate transactions.

$7M for a single taxiway? Wow! Are they adding a waterpark feature too? I am in the wrong business.

Yea I was gonna say...that's a major cost of living difference haha. 7 million for remaking a taxiway vs. 6 million for terminal expansion

This looks different than the previously released plans that had them adding to both sides of the existing terminal. This new is likely less expensive. Holy cow is it a boring, no thrills box.
Oddly enough, since the airports numbers haven’t been too bad this year, they may actually move on this sooner than later.

I thought the old plans had added on the other side. Seems like they had customs on the other side in the old plans. I am hoping the actual comes out looking a little nicer, but I also think they don’t need to be dropping a lot extra on frills for their size. Especially when they could go back to no flights if Allegiant goes under/gets bought out. I also would hope Allegiant has given some sort of guarantee/acknowledgement they will add if this gets built and make it a base like other airports.

Oh I get it! Just another example of poor government hand-out of money, I wonder how the submission process works for this type of funding. I would be interested to see if there have to be multiple bids submitted or if they just say "hey we need $7M".

ECP was cut is now back in on Saturdays.

Others added more frequencies.

Have they added any west coast flights? I really want to fly again and the bay area is the only place I have relatives in which would make a corna vacation much easier.

I am not sure I would bet on UA having a flight either. October hasn't been updated for them yet. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed back.

"Cape Air’s Tecnam P2012 Travellers are carrying passengers once again. The airline had suspended the new props last month while regulators reviewed certain modifications to the planes."

Cape Air's Tecnam Aircraft is back in the air!

I saw one flying out of MWA to STL and from BNA, use Flight Aware or Flightradar24 to check.

It looks like N411CA, and N255CA are back in the air.

This is from the 2018 open house.

Great news. My last flight this year was a STL-MWA-STL in early March just to catch a Tecnam (on the return). Nice little aircraft and I'm excited to see it back in action.

WN added back in some flights for October again this week.

ECP was cut is now back in on Saturdays.

Others added more frequencies.

Have they added any west coast flights? I really want to fly again and the bay area is the only place I have relatives in which would make a corna vacation much easier.

I REALLY hope WN extends this to November and into early December. We were booked for Thanksgiving to our house in Seaside......it was cancelled. I get it but I don't get ECP in October. Tourism is next to nothing and biz is nothing.
Thoughts?

G4 is still flying to Fort Walton Beach in November haha

Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

Airlines are going to go heavy on Florida/leisure routes all winter with light business travel. They ran Saturday only to ECP last October also. They have been expanding it to a longer season lately.

Wait are they actually considering adding INTL flights from BLV? I can't imagine where those would go unless they want it for private or funjet/apple charter Caribbean flights.

I could see maybe a once-weekly g4 flight like AA did to CUN as well maybe

I would guess CUN or Caribbean. Nothing crazy. Still a big IF.

Hard pass. I'd rather do the 11 hour drive. :duck:
