It appears that American Airlines is really stepping up their service between PWM and PHL starting on November 4th. There will be 6 daily departures from Portland with 2 mainline (A319) aircraft at 5:30AM and 5:55PM and the flights continue beyond February so it's not a holiday push. Mainline service to CLT also continues with no decrease in flights which surprised me due to the added lift to PHL. Not sure if the pandemic will have an effect on this new schedule but it looks promising especially during the normal winter slow down normally associated with northeast markets.

After the last schedule loaded AA is down to less than daily service to PHL on an RJ. Much more realist for the global pandemic we are in.

Figured it was too good to be true, have learned not to pay much attention to airline flight schedules more than a couple of months in the future especially during a pandemic.

Looking ahead through January, It seems like AA has made PWM-ORD year round. Single daily trip with an E-175. Even with the pandemic, that route seemed destined to be made year-round eventually.

fyi, on today's JetBlue earning call, they made specific mention that routes from BDL and PVD have been performing above expectations. And looking at schedule, they really have only chopped Florida stuff on Tue/Wed in most cases. They have been vrey aggressive at choppping flights that they don't think will be cash positive. So looks like those new adds have done well and have a good chance of sticking around permanently.

I wish b6 would re-try btv-mco or try btv-fll. With cold winter weather soon there will always be some people you can convince to get on a plane for warmer weather. With a push to more leisure routes anyway they have planes sitting around. Seems very unlikely i know but they have the planes sitting around right now to fly it

I think the quarantine requirements are impacting leisure at BTV too much right now. And F9 is still doing BTV-MCO this winter.

According to the New Hampshire Union Leader's website, DL will not be resuming operations at MHT, and the article can be found at https://www.unionleader.com/news/business/delta-wont-resume-operations-at-manchester-boston-regional-airport/article_6bd21b58-4937-5c71-bd21-e5640421cbdf.html.

Very disappointed to see DL pulling out of MHT. I suppose the writing was on the wall though, their schedule out of MHT had been cut pretty dramatically even before COVID.

Sad for mht. But the legacies all seemed to struggle. Airfares are always so crazy to anything not a southwest focus city , hard to use the airport if you were paying. The population is there for the airport , but geography seems against them. They will always be a southwest to Florida and bwi airport I don't see that going away.

I'm wondering if AA picks up LGA out of MHT now. With DL leaving permanently and UA switching to IAD from EWR (if they even come back too), this leaves MHT without a link to the New York market. Does anyone do something about this?

Also, just checked the MHT website. DL is still on there. WN is also saying FLL seasonal service? Truth?

Peace :box:

I know that, I am talking about closing the station not a suspension.

No verified sources as of yet but Tweed Facts Facebook page is rumoring it.

Maybe after the Canadian boarder opens up this would be more feasible.

I noticed DL upgraded ATL-PWM to a 737-900 from a A320 this past week. Don’t know if it’s just for Thanksgiving, or permanent for this winter? Either way, nice to see a DL 737 at PWM. The only other time they’ve scheduled a 737 here, was a 737-200, to CVG briefly about 15 years ago.

Looks like the 737-900 is in place through the end of February when it reverts back to an A319 with a 6 AM departure in March.

Really sad to see AA drop the axe on HVN after expanding right before the pandemic took its grip. Hopefully they go back when things recover.

Delta had been using maximum gauge to offset their blocking of middle seats. A 739 is the equivalent of a 717 under their booking policy.

There's an Atlas 744 at Hanscom right now! Showed up on Friday, probably leaving tomorrow.

Arizona Cardinals charter, in to play the Pats.

Is Hanscom the norm for visiting professional teams? I realize there are no security issues and Atlas also does military charters but it seems to be a long bus ride to Foxborough and I was under the impression that PVD accommodated the NFL teams heading to Gillette? How about the MLB, NHL and NBA teams heading to Fenway and the Garden, do they land at Logan due to the closer proximity to downtown?

Maybe after the Canadian boarder opens up this would be more feasible.

I have been hearing talk of some kind of a northeast regional deal in the works for a while now, on top of the AA-B6 agreement. Makes sense, plenty of already-owned planes and crews available.
I am no longer in the building and hearing the direct rumors from upstairs, so take it with a grain of salt, but it would be beneficial for both carriers if JB can get an LOA with the pilots for it.

Things have to change, and companies are starting to run out of cash and time. If you are going to make a "bold" move, it might as well be now, for spring/summer.

Interesting rumor for sure. So like an expanded version of the bos nyc only code share but for other NE cities? And you are hearing it from the AA or B6 side? Keep us posted if you learn more details.
