Happy New Year everyone.

This being my first post for 2020, I would like to post a general review of the year 2019 in aviation.

- 737MAX grounded worldwide.
- Airbus announces the end of the A380 production line.
- KLM is first airline to celebrate 100th anniversary.

- SAS retires last 737-600 and introduces the A350.
- Air France orders more A350s and begins A380 retirement.
- Emirates announces orders for 787s and A350s.
- United orders A321NEOs.
- American retires last MD-80.
- Delta introduces the A220.
- Delta expands in BOS.
- KLM takes delivery of last NG737 built, a 737-800.
- Royal Air Maroc joins One World.
- Boeing 747 maiden flight: 50th anniversary.
- Man on the moon: 50th anniversary. (yes I know it's not related to airlines and airliners, but still it's a very important milestone in the history of aviation and mankind)
- Air France announces major order for the A220.
- El Al retires last 747.
- Qantas stops flying the 747 to the United States.
- Qantas project sunrise: longest flights in the world announced: LHR-SYD and JFK-SYD nonstop!
- Concorde maiden flight: 50th anniversary.
- B777-9X first flight delayed because of issues in testing.
- A320 in the United States: 30 years.
- Cactus 1549: 10-year anniversary.
- Airbus consortium foundation: 50th anniversary.
- Eastern reborn as Eastern III.
- Boeing 777 maiden flight: 25th anniversary.

This is my forecast for 2020:

- Avianca and Qantas are next to celebrate 100th anniversary.
- Boeing 747 in service: 50 years.
- American takes delivery of additional 787s and A321NEOs (and again in 2021).
- Qantas retires last 747.
- DC-10 maiden flight: 50th anniversary.
- B777-9X maiden flight.
- American retires last 767 (if not in 2020, at the latest the last one will leave in 2021 for sure).
- MD-11 maiden flight: 30th anniversary.
- Delta retires last MD-88.
- Boeing 777 in service: 25 years.

Technically RAM hasn't joined Oneworld yet. The official announcement was in 2018 and RAM is expected to become a member on March 31, 2020.

Also... Avianca turned 100 in December 2019.

Can't forget about the announcement of the A321XLR, Qantas selecting the A35K, and Delta partnering with LATAM.

Happy new year to you to:

2019 here in Australia Virgin with flights from Perth to Hobart.
The never ending and complex ownership of Virgin Australia.
Virgin Australia flights to Hong Kong.
Japan Airlines flights to Melbourne.
ANA start services to Perth.
Only prediction I can think of at the moment is; Hobart might get an international service to Auckland with either Virgin Australia or Air New Zealand, there seems to be a bit more talk about it of late.

You forgot one quite important launch:
Airbus launched the A321XLR which has already sold almost 500 units...
