I didn't know if the engine delays were pushing things back. I haven't noticed any seatmaps yet showing this airplane?

I have no idea, when Delta expects the first A321neo apart from their timeline from the annual report. There are no MSN yet reported. I have not even seen an engine choice yet, or I have missed it.

I think this year engines will be a lesser problems. The manufacturers are coming up to speed and CFM for example will use the Boeing hiatus to produce more engines of the Airbus type LEAP 1A.

I think this year will b

There's a new Annual Report due in about five weeks.

Purchase Commitments outlined in the annual report don't always get fulfilled. DL was supposed to get 15 A220s in 2018 and got 4.

Engines haven’t been the main source of Neo delays now, it has been the ACF configuration and Airbus just generally being behind where they should be as they try and catch up to the delivery schedule.

Yes, you missed it. When every member of this thread is talking about CFM LEAP, Airbus' press release mentioned 2 years ago that Delta has choosen Pratt -Whitney GTF for the Neos.

If you disagree with my statement, assume that it was just a joke :duck:

Did DL originally intend to have the A321NEO in service by Summer 2020 prior to any of the production delays?
Wasn't this, along with the A220 delivery delays justification for needing to keep more MD-88s flying through 2020?

I would say, that there is no reason to assume that Delta would not get any A321neo in 2020. The delay at Airbus for the A321neo is somewhere inside of 3 month depending on engine type.

How is that inconsistent with post number 7?

It certainly leaves the count of 18 Neos due in 2020 as stated as a purchase commitment in the annual report of Feb. 2019 as rather suspect.

The A321neo will have 194 seats (20F, 42E, 132Y), 3 more total than current A321ceo. First 20 ETOPS. Ships 1-100 tails numbered 5001-5100. Wireless IFE like the A220s. First NEO expected NOV 2020, Second expected in JAN 2021 with service commencing March 2021. New pilot base for A320 expected in SEA.

Aren't only 31 deliveries of A321ceo missing?

Out of curiosity, where is the 194 number cited?
Delta said 197 seats in the most recent announcement I found: http://news.delta.com/delta-selects-air ... et-renewal

From me. Take it as fact now, or if you like, wait for an offical public announcement and loop back here.

42 C+ seats would be a godsend. That's twice as many as the 180 seat 739 (which is way undersupplied with C+).

DL has chosen the ACF configuration with 4 doors and 4 window exits. (2 on each side) That configuration is limited to 194 seats per FAA regulations due to exit limitations.
