New Boeing 737 Derivative Announced?

Sun Mar 31, 2002 9:27 pm

Does anyone have any info on a new 737 derivative which has been in the planning? I have it on authority, that Royal Phnom Penh Airways is going to be the launch customer. The designation, from what I have heard, is the 737NG-P

All I have is an image of the aircraft:

I see it's getting closer to April First. The next 737 will be the -1000 series. WN will be the launch customer. Regards.

Some more info here, and I have it on good authority from Aviation News Weekly, dated Feb 29th of this year...that the new 737-1000 will be based on the -700 fuselage, -800 winglets, 757 gears, and twin Allison 501-D22A engines turning 6-bladed props. That's why the new plane need the 757 gears, for prop clearance. WN can save millions just in fuel costs alone.  Wink/being sarcastic Regards.

Just a side note, it seems the airport authority created the image. Go to this link, and look at the top of the page:

Actually, I knew it was a joke right away, Which is why I posted a humourous reply. Flyboy obviously interpreted my reply incorrectly.
