Emirates will receive three of the jumbos by the end of the year, at least one of which will have a premium economy cabin, the executive said Wednesday. That will leave five more to be delivered at a later date.

We've been awaiting the dominance of point-to-point for 20 years now. It hasn't happened.
The vast majority of A350 / 787 are used from hubs. The occasional ULH routes are exceptional and, of course, still involve a hub at one end...

However, the seat may officially remain under wraps or at least off the airline's flying schedule until the middle of 2021.

As 747classic pointed out in the 777X production thread the GE9X has a special variant for hot and low operations tailored to the Middle East conditions

Like a clockwork. Let me guess 777X is close to certification.
This Noah's Arc flying away from Dubai vision screwed RR. His imaginary loads and unrealistic thrust requirements put RR in a pickle. Now GE's turn.
Take out empty/non-rev premium seats, showers, bars, requirement should be far less for any frame and to run a profitable airline.

Some fact checking for Tim Clark (or does he also believe in alternative facts) : The GE9X engine has been already certified at September 25th 2020. The airframe and airframe /engine combination has to be certified.

It's not really a good sign for EK that STC had delayed retirement at least twice now and he is still the one the financial and aviation media types go to for information. You would think at this time they would have at least named a successor and that person would be sharing the stage with STC serving to make the introductions to ease the transition to his successor.

Returned to the lessor GECAS ?

Was gone for around an hour, so as poster AirIndia said, flight test before a new owner.

A6-EPV to A6-EQG have new business class, but regular first class suites.
A6-EQH to A6-EQP have new business class and new fully enclosed first class suites.

Emirates’ premium economy seats will also be installed on some of its Boeing 777X aircraft which are only due to join the fleet in 2023
