Weather is getting better now. Less rain, more sun. Hopefully less wind.
I think how long they can wait at this point is limited by the bladder capacity of the pilots in the chase helicopter and plane.

X is short for 'experimental', pretty much every new Boeing model starts off with an X in the designation till marketing decides what to call it for real.

Off topic, but is the 779's MLG bogey designed to lock in position on rotation, like the 773's, to foster greater aft fuselage clearance?
