One thing I noticed: all those planes either side, not a single one with a US airline paint scheme.

4 knots crosswind right now... that’s the best Boeing can get so I wouldn’t be surprised if they run up for takeoff right as they get to the end of the taxiway.

Not many employees watching thought as it’s a weekend.

Thanks for your generous advice. In aviation, it is better to plan for the worst case scenario and as of 2020, there are enough tools in short term weather prediction and depiction.

Thanks for your generous advice. In aviation, it is better to plan for the worst case scenario and as of 2020, there are enough tools in short term weather prediction and depiction.

I don’t get the issue... the worst case happened which was the 777X wasn’t able to fly... which would have been the same result had they not tried for first flight yesterday.

The best case was they were able to fly yesterday and would have started flight tests immediately. Which totally outweighs the worst case which is same as base case scenario anyway. Slight encumbrance for the avid watchers and employees, but there are bigger things to fry.

The prediction said they may have a window of opportunity, and unfortunately the window was too tight. That’s short term weather prediction for you.
