I admit I am a bit nervous about this from a passenger perspective. There are several examples of crashes when pilots forget to deploy flaps on takeoff.

Also, how do they plan to ensure the wings can't fold in flight? There is also that Lauda Air plane that crashed when slats deployed in flight.

It strikes me as "something else that can go wrong." Can someone explain why I'm wrong about this?

Tiny correction but the Lauda Air was due to the trust reverser activating.

Agreed. I never thought the 787 was good looking with it's stubby, low stance. It always looked weird/off to me. But looks just 'right', the 777X is beautiful.

Agreed, it is very well proportioned, quite a beautiful aircraft.

AS350 actually. Not to nitpick.

Interesting. Is it a Boeing asset, or media?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but is their any way to get a roll call of the various chase planes and media helicopters?

I followed the FR24 link given earlier ( https://www.flightradar24.com/47.91,-122.29/14 ) but see nothing.

The chopper is parked (on the ground with engine running) probably waiting for tower to give them instructions.
Was parked for a while before it took of to record the wingtips.
