Didn't know that! I guess the E-190s - currently operating for BE from LCY might be the obvious choice, even as an interim option.

I understand that all Stobart ATR crews are being trained on Embraer jets, so that's another pointer in the direction of the Embraers, though I would imagine that Stobart would intend to operate the acft to EDI and possibly GLA and BHX. (CItyjet operated some RJ85s to BHX last summer).

I hope you get sorted. I was booked to fly with China Eastern and Air China over the next 6 weeks (both just transits through China). Both bookings have had a mix of cancellations, schedule changes or restrictions placed on them. Both refused to reroute passengers, only offering a refund or change of date to the same itineraries.

Indeed I was in there a few times. Highly recommend the noodles.

As for HKG I would not be going near it at the moment either.

RYANAIR will house two Boeing 737 Max simulators at a new multi-million-euro Technical Centre of Excellence near Dublin Airport.

Planning files show that the large premises will have four full-motion simulators installed - two for the Max and two for the Airbus A320.

The Airbus jets are used by Ryanair's Austrian subsidiary, Lauda.

The new centre in Dublin will require an investment of tens of millions of euro. Each new full-motion simulator can cost in the region of €14m.

The superb efficiency withwhich TK can substitute a variety of different aircraft into and out of Dublin must send other airlines green with envy . Other than weather related events they often do widebody upgrades when the UAE schools break for holidays getting all the Irish teachers home .

They almost run shuttle services to IST from TLV and AMM,, would love to see some additional Dublin rotations

Excellent news; frankly, I was sick to death of seeing the same 4-5 739s almost every day (it always seemed to be TC-JYL-P). They have about 14 A321 Neos now, with around eight more to come. Good to see them show confidence in the Irish market, too.

Interesting discussion yesterday morning on Morning Ireland on how sensible and necessary SF’s housing policies are.

Will be interesting to see if PBP manage to influence aviation through their aviation tax proposals. Environmental change here should be driven by more efficient aircraft rather than taxing frequent flyers.

Well, if they're lying idle, have roughly the right config and the right engines, it's not beyond the realm of possibility. I don't know what they're requirements are, but with the 321Neos being late, it can't be ruled out. It's more than likely that this decision (to ground IG) - while a surprise to us - was expected well in advance and the lessor has more than likely been talking around to potential customers.

I didn't think the CSM/Supervisor's had a different tie/scarve colour with the new uniform. I know the old uniform it was silver. What colour is the new scare/tie colour for the CSM/Sup's?

Avolon's net profits and revenues for 2019 rise

Dublin-based aircraft leasing firm Avolon has reported a slight increase in net profits for 2019 as its revenues also rose.

The company said it made a record $718m in net profits last year on the back of revenues of more than $2.6 billion.

Honestly, this this more like Mr Doyle telling the Cork Chamber Business Breakfast what the Cork Chamber Business Breakfast wanted to hear. While I have no doubt Aer Lingus considers every business opportunity available to them, the fact he repeatedly reiterates Cork has major hurdles to overcome before it can happen suggests he was merely entertaining the idea for the audience he had.

Same goes for the ORK-DUB suggestion and that ORK-BRU is the 'most credible' city route.

What must be glaring Aer Lingus management in the face right now is the need for smaller short haul aircraft, you can't sing the praises of a smaller transatlantic plane without thinking about the opportunities one might bring to the European network as well.
