Certainly having AS as a OW member soon won’t suck.
Look at the AS route network out of SFO, take out the cities that already have non-stop QR service, and those for which other cities have better connecting routings (like AUS-DFW-DOH) and you'll see the AS partnership isn't going to amount to much value in SFO.
PSP,BOI,SEA,PDX,GEG,SAN,SJD,PVR, Hawaii flights when they return, Etc....
Your statement isn't really the most valid statement. That being said QR isn't starting SFO because of AS/AA feed. It's one of the economic hubs of the world. One of the most highly visited by tourist in the world. Thats why they are flying there. But having OW connections can't hurt!
Its also doesn't hurt that SFO has been courting QR for many of years and I am sure under the current times, they are getting an even sweeter deal then they would have in years past.
