I suspect that the A350's will only be used on the North American routes as that as what they were originally intended for and Other routes will use A340's until the airline is more financially stable and is ready to update or expand its network with newer aircraft
Aren't those two A350s also leased? If so, I guess they plan to continue paying those leases and the lessors are happy about the risk? They probably can't find a new airline to lease them very easily now anyway.
Yes, the remaining 2 A350s are leased from Air Mauritius, which aren't doing that well either. No idea what the status of those 2 aircraft is now.
So I expect any long haul flying from SAA only with the A340s. Anyway, if they need other long haul aircraft they can be leased pretty cheaply I expect, far more supply than demand.
