Interesting incident at BON, where last night a 787 on its way to AMS sank through the tarmac after pushback.

Apparently, the plane passed a weak spot of newly extended tarmac border which wasn’t supposed to be used by airplanes. It took several hours to recover the plane, after which it took off to CUR for the crew to take their rest time before returning to AMS.

Due to the tight AMS-BON schedule, a 767 from TUI Belgium was deployed to ensure timely departure of the return plane on 2 March.

So much for lightweight carbon fibre airplanes :-)
