No it's joining other fleet members that were sent there.

77W C-FRAM is now on its way YVR-SIN.

2xxx flight numbers are also being used for ferry flights.

Are we discussing the Jazz fleet too in this thread?

Three Jazz Dash 8s (two Q400s + one -300) are headed to YQB right now (16:00 PT, 03April) with 7xxx flight numbers. I think Jazz usually uses 8xxx numbers. I guess they're parking some there.

Yeah. Jazz flights for AC are all 8xxx, plus 78 x since the dissolution of Georgian. 70xx and 71xx are ferries or charters.

There were a few DH3s parked at T1 yesterday afternoon. If I remember correctly the only DH3 service left at YYZ is YSB (and I expect that to be axed sooner rather than later). I assume those will be leaving shortly. I'd assume YYB is the most likely location.

YTS is still operational too. Means they’ll probably keep a pair of YYZ-based DH3s active.

They could easily combine the two as YYZ-YSB-YTS, they can't have enough load to need more than 25 seats to each, and the YSB stop is no detour off the normal YYZ-YTS non-stop routing. Add maybe 25-30 mins to the flight to YTS?

I’d hazard a guess that AC need the cargo space.

The Federal Government apparently contracted with both AC and CargoJet to bring N95 masks from China. I would expect that AC would assign a 77W to that task given its capacity.

A special op friend (JTF-2) told me (while joking) that a few of his colleagues are assigned on each flight to ensure that no N95 crates are seized/diverted on the tarmac... (as in modern piracy...)

Indeed. It was Air Canada's very first A320 #201 delivered in January 1990. Originally, Ansett ordered it. How many hours and cycles has it logged in three decades?

Retirement or storage? AC stiII has both 201 and 402 on their FIN Numbers page, which generally gets updated as soon as an aircraft leaves the property for good. Both those frames flew to MZJ today. But 201 has held out against a few attempts at retirement so this could be true..

Was C-FDQQ one of the A320's that was parked earlier this year to preserve flighttime for the summer sked? I know they parked a few A320's as they were coming up on heavy checks, and they needed them for the summer with the MAX still being unable to fly.

Maybe, Fr24 shows her pretty active until recently... however there is about a month between Jan 9 and Feb 14 gap but in MLB? Doesn't line up with the others that were parked.

Is it to free-up space at MZJ for aircraft that won't come back in fleet?

I think the E90 was sent down to pick up the crews that flew a bunch of aircraft down the last couple of days. It was on the ground in MZJ for less than an hour this morning.

AC's first A320 retired, after 30 years? Has it already been that long? I had contacts at the time, and I remember visiting that plane at YUL when it arrived; it smelled like a new car!

I drove by YUL today. Very quiet. I saw around 25 AC & Rouge aircraft parked away from the terminal along with about 15 from Air Transat. At the terminal there were around 5 AC aircraft and one AF.

It is very quiet indeed. When I heard one airplane today, I ran out to see it! And it was a 732 (I knew from the sound!) coming from YHU.

… Forgot to mention that I live close to the path to 24L. Normally it was quite busy… up to sometime at the end of winter.

Man I remember flying on those A320s when they were brand-new (and its predecessor 727s). It was the era I was travelling globally for work. Time flies! On one of my early flights, there was an Airbus technical team on board keeping an eye on things. I even got quite a few cockpit visits on them.

Turned out to be a great aircraft, and a great acquisition for AC, right up there with their DC-9s in longevity.

YRQ = maintenance

Yep the sole remaining DH1 route is the currently 3x weekly YYC-YQU.

C-FIVX (B77W) just left YMX for YYZ, according to FR24 its been at YMX since March 23rd. Any chance it’s being put back in service for the LHR flights?

It could be one of the aircraft having its seats removed to haul cargo over the next couple weeks. That may have been done in YMX.
