easyJet, whose entire fleet is grounded, has secured a £600 million loan from the government and will be borrowing £407 million from creditors as its founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou today renewed calls for the airline to cancel the £4.5 billion order for 107 planes from Airbus.

Airbus is suspending operations in Bremen and Stade from April 6 - 27 and April 6 - 11, respectively. Airbus Mobile will also pause the FAL from April 6 - 29. It's not stated explicitly but
These actions are being taken in response to several factors related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic including high inventory levels in the sites and the various government recommendations and requirements which impact at different stages of the overall industrial production flow. Airbus remains committed to meeting customer demand.

hints at a reduced FAL output that lead to (or would lead to) "high inventory levels".

AF parked fleet info (translated from FB article in French) with nice photos:
https://www.facebook.com/1052250344917276/posts/1806986859443617/?d=n

Planes at rest, mechanics at work!

Air France had to immobilize 180 planes (out of 224) at three sites (Roissy, Orly & Toulouse).

Maintenance teams are there on a daily basis to watch over the planes to ensure a return to the air as quickly as possible.

80% of the fleet is stopped, but the planes are checked very regularly by a hundred mechanics present every day.

They must ensure the proper maintenance of the 38 aircraft still in operation, including 26 long-haul.
They provide flights to 36 destinations.

The Air France mechanics take care of the stored anes according to the manufacturers' recommendations & directives.

The engines are switched on for 15 min every 7 days.

Verifications of the aircraft's hydraulic systems (rudder / elevator).

Checking the tires.

Checking the humidity level in the cabin of the device (if the rate is higher than 60%, the air conditioning will be activated).

The tanks are filled to 10% to avoid drying of the seals & to carry out engine tests.

Air France maintenance prepared the devices for storage via:

The sealing of the various sensors and probes on the aircraft.

Stowage of engine fan blades to prevent damage.

The tarpaulin of engines and landing gear.

Aircraft return to service operations are relatively quick, it will however be necessary to disinfect the water systems, remove the protections, & perform a battery of tests before returning to the air.

Maintenance teams are therefore essential players for the company.

They ensure a high level of security, and take care of planes so that we can re travel with peace of mind!

Tahiti, April 10, 2020 - A charter operated by the Delta company to repatriate North American nationals present in French Polynesia should take place Monday at 4 p.m., the U.S. consular agency announced. Those wishing to take this flight are invited to make themselves known to the agency.

It was "a great surge of solidarity" announced by the US consular agent in Polynesia, Christopher Kozely. Indeed, in a press release issued this Friday morning, it would seem that a charter flight should take place to "repatriate North American nationals in Polynesia to the United States". The Delta company should ensure this flight Monday at 4 pm which will join Polynesia to Hawaii, to leave for the United States thereafter. "It would be the first time that this company will land on Polynesian soil," noted the consular officer.

Antonov An-225 delivered around 100 metric tons of medical cargoes from China to Warsaw, Poland. The cargo was light and voluminous, and it appears 1000 m3 of cargo was aboard, apparently a world record:

Another Antonov Airlines heavyweight, An-22 Antei (the largest cargo turboprop, and the only aircraft of this model in commercial service) is also thrown into battle against pandemic. It was positioned today from homebase in Ukraine to Leipzig:

The spread of the coronavirus has led to entry restrictions worldwide and a decline in demand for air travel. Austrian Airlines has therefore temporarily suspended regular flight operations as of March 18, 2020. Currently, all Austrian Airlines flights are cancelled until May 17, 2020.

Just checked Flightaware.com When was the last time we saw more Cessna 172s airborne than any other aircraft? Granted with ADS-B becoming more common for GA aircraft, this will become more common.

Also, as of 2:46PM, EDT, Friday, 17APR2020, there are more 747-8's airborne than A320s. Strange times.

A good landing is one you can walk away from. A great landing is if the aircraft can be flown again.

More than two million masks were loaded into the hold of the 777-300ER from PVG to LHR (required seven pilots and six cabin crew for the return trip) and a further 480,000 were strapped into each seat and placed into the overhead lockers of the economy section.

I had created a separate post for this, but maybe it belongs here. So I just copied and pasted what I had posted on the other thread

As per Sam Chu's website, an Italian company called Aviointeriors has filled a patent application for a new type of airplane seat that would allow for "social distancing" while on board an airplane.

Each seat is surrounded by a large transparent shield that prevents the breath propagation to the other passengers on the row. According to the manufacturer, seats are deigned with easy cleaning and safe hygienist materials.
