Peter Cerda, IATA's regional vice president for the America, has advised Caribbean governments to cut passenger taxes if they wish to be competitive when service is restored. He said that Caribbean economies could lose US$740 million and face 23,000 job cuts if borders remain closed through to the end of June.

As well as cutting staff numbers by a quarter, BA cabin crew contracts are being overhauled with the three fleets at LHR being reduced to one, meaning that senior cabin crew would face cuts up to 75%.

Some early-reporting airports have April numbers out. The overall decrease of 95%-ish holds broadly true. But seeing the average daily passengers in 2019 and 2020 is perhaps more representative of the change. Seeing Boston serve barely more daily passengers this April (3,178) than Sioux Falls served each day last April (2,968) is pretty remarkable.

Germany reported March 2020 passenger numbers: https://www.adv.aero/wp-content/uploads ... tistik.pdf

-63.0 % overall passengers
-11.7 % overall cargo

Split by destination:
-54.2 % longhaul
-63.7 % to Europe (excl. Germany)
-68.6 % domestic

Passengers split by airport:
FRA 2,123,734 (-62.0%)
MUC 1,327,889 (-65.1%)
DUS 709,323 (-63.9%)
TXL 693,451 (-64.8%)
HAM 515,359 (-62.2%)
STR 345,861 (-61.1%)
SXF 341,429 (-64.6%)
CGN 316,765 (-62.9%)

Interesting when it comes to cargo per airport (in metric tonnes):
FRA 457,557 (-11.9%)
LEJ 295,525 (-1.5%)
CGN 183,012 (-5.8%)
MUC 71,928 (-15.2%)
HHN 35,276 (-5.8%)

Clearly, dedicated freight hubs like LEJ and CGN are seeing very stable traffic levels, whereas MUC and FRA lose significantly as belly cargo capacity gets cut.

Admittedly not an airline, but you see their rental car outlets at airports across the world and their business is very dependent on airport traffic.... Hertz have filed for Chapter 11

I imagine other major rental car companies are struggling to a similiar degree
