Hawaii extends 14 day quarantine exemption which would have taken effect on August 1, now to September 1, provided that arriving pax would have to submit a negative covid test which had been taken within 72 hours of arrival (which in itself is not a sure thing due to testing delays).

BA has retired its entire fleet of 31 747-400s with immediate effect. The plan was to ground the fleet by 2024 but the end has been hastened by the Covid-19 crisis.

Dallas Love Field will be testing a thermal screening initiative for Southwest Airlines passengers as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

The city of Dallas on Wednesday announced the airport will host the pilot program that it’s expected to begin in early August.

The goal of the project is to use thermal screening cameras to take the body temperatures of passengers at TSA checkpoints.

Reuters reports that IATA has pushed back their earlier forecast for recovery to pre-crisis traffic levels from 2023 to 2024.

Global airlines cut their coronavirus recovery forecast on Tuesday, saying it would take until 2024 - a year longer than previously expected - for passenger traffic to return to pre-crisis levels.
