Royal Brunei has removed seats from an A320 Neo for cargo operations:

I would've thought using the largely unused 787 hold cargo would have been a cheaper solution, but who knows...

Yields down due to coronavirus
https://centreforaviation.com/analysis/ ... ery-567982

2Q 2021 yields were a startling 32% below pre-pandemic (2Q 2019) levels, reflecting a low yield strategy by airlines to stimulate demand.

That was a brutal impact of coronavirus.

Here are American and Delta’s policies based on an internet search.

AA is encouraging its employees to get vaccinated and offers them $50 but not requiring it.

DL will require new hires to be vaccinated. 60%(as of the May link) of current staff is vaccinated.

Etihad seems to have further narrowed losses, but says the delta variant massively disrupted recovery:

https://www.ft.com/content/8b5adfb9-d3b ... df9d591340

Also, Has anyone tried out their recently launched programme to extend the chaffeur service to economy passengers in transporting them from Abu Dhabi Airport to Dubai? I thought Abu Dhabi had very strict quarantine measures, i.e. if the arriving passenger is un-vaccinated then they would face 12 day quarantine - would they allow such a passenger to arrive at the airport and then transfer to Dubai? Seems really strange Abu Dhabi has massive restrictions relative to Dubai.

Delta to require full employee vaccination beginning Nov 1 or pay $200 per month to offset costs which are about $40,000 per hospital stay.

Delta Air Lines will charge employees on the company health plan $200 a month if they fail to get vaccinated against COVID-19, a policy the airline's top executive says is necessary because the average hospital stay for the virus costs the airline $40,000

An increase in positive COVID test results has been observed in travellers arriving from Morocco in the last month.

The USA's President has ordered in a speech on Thursday, Sept. 9th, the TSA to double fines for not wearing masks on air flights, trains and other passenger transportation as well as train stations, airports. He also called in his speech that we need to 'show respect' to all and that the anger toward cabin crew doing their job as 'is wrong'. Hopefully this will reduce risks of spread of Covid-19 infections on transportation facilities and curb some of the stupid behavior on air flights. https://news.yahoo.com/show-respect-tsa ... 42712.html

With children age 5-11 becoming vaccinated this should start a travel surge by the Christmas/New Year’s Break.
Airlines,Theme parks and cruise ships all have been waiting for this because a Huge demographic of people have been avoiding travel.

Hopefully all the airlines can get staffing under control to meet the needs this time around.
