Where Air Transat park its fleet?

Sun Mar 29, 2020 5:33 pm

Besides the A310s fleet that is about to be completely withdrawn from use with the last two following all the others to YMX, I've noticed that during the past hour two of their A332s (C-GITS, C-GUBF) have been sent to Mirabel, preceeded by C-GGTS two days ago.

I'm curious to learn where they are going to park the remainder of their fleet once operations are completly halted.

If TS stay around or gets acquired by AC, I wonder how many of their 20 A330s will be kept?

C-GJDA is about to land at YMX, it's the albino A332.

Bordering on the topic: any possibility that TS gives one of their A310 to the Canadian aviation museum in Rockliffe?

Unlikely as unlikely the AC DC-9, its contribution to Canadian aviation is minimal. The museum has no room for an aircraft that size indoors. I would expect the next jetliner donation to be one of the A220/CSeries FTV prototypes in say 10-15 years.

Besides the question of room at the museum to have such aircraft, with the current crisis added to preexisting difficulties, I don't think TS would spend that money to fly the aircraft to the museum whereas they have perhaps already sold it to be broken up, earning some money in the process.

Also, I've counted that 30 distinct A310s have been operated by airlines, essentially leisure airlines, in Canada between 1988 and 2020. The most important contribution of the type to Canadian aviation was its capability to fly non-stop between the West Coast and LGW with Wardair.
