CHR is an interesting choice. It is well known to BA as they use it for cockpit crew training (along with many other airlines), and Dale Aviation is onsite to support aircraft storage and parking. Airbus sent over Hainan NTUs. But Dale and two other companies at the airport have the capacity to dismantle an A380 if they're asked to... It is home to France's largest dedicated aircraft recycling platform after all.

it depends. If an aircraft is truly parked, its engines are fired up at least once a month, the wheels are turned at least a quarter of the way every other week, etc. There are a number of activities to keep the aircraft mostly flight ready. At the same time, since the aircraft is not flying, the clock to the next maintenance check slows down (but doesn't stop).
If an aircraft is stored on the other end, the clock virtually stops, but extensive steps need to be taken both to store the aircraft, such as sealing all openings and draining all hydraulics, and to return the aircraft to service.
