I didn't know it at the time but VH-OJU was to be the last QF 744 I took a ride in - must of been around 2012/13, BNE-SIN-BNE as QF51/52 and had the Boxing Kangaroo decals applied. If I also remember correctly, she had only recently had a cabin refurb back then?
Good to see she has a second life.

If it's boxing kangaroo decal then yes it's OJU.

IIRC they had a reconfig around that time but I can't remember the exact details now.

From memory, it was to bring the 747 product closer in line with the A380.

Good afternoon

I have a return flight with Singapore Airlines from Europe to Sydney, departing on 25 July 2020 and returning mid-August

As you are surely better informed than me regarding the COVID-19 situation down under, do you think there is a chance that Australia will open up to International tourists by July or shall I better cancel my flight already now?

Thanks so much!

What a fantastic shot. Thanks for sharing.

Is it just me or are those wings flexing upwards? I know that Airbus and Boeing have different philosophies with wing designs and I believe that B wings are more inclined to flex. They just seem very curved in the above pic.

*edit: grammar*

9 744s VH-OEE-OEJ and OJS-OJU were upgraded between 2011-2013 to the same product as the A380 minus First.

Highly unlikely unfortunately There is talk of travel to NZ by September and Singapore by some time in Q4 but Europe is unlikely before 2021

At this stage, all borders remain closed to foreign travel.

Try checking the government’s Smart Traveller website.

There is talk of a travel “bubble” between Australia-Singapore-South Korea.

Australia-Singapore travel could restart under 'green lane' plan

Australia and Singapore are in discussions to establish a 'travel bubble' which could also include South Korea.

Travel between Australia and Singapore could reopen without 14-day isolation periods under a 'green lane' proposal now under discussion by the two countries

Been seeing on TV over the last 2 days South Australia advertising a fair bit. First overseas adverts since March

A lot of New Zealanders aren't wanting an Australian bubble and would prefer a Pacific Islands bubble instead due to new cases daily in some Australian states

Ummm - where does this come from? I’ve not even heard a whisker of that? What I have heard is that Pacific Islands are very cautious about anyone at all coming in, apart from Fiji and Vanuatu.

Yes some Islands are very worried with at least Samoa wanting New Zealand to pay for/sort out pre flight passenger health checks. Only got to read the comments sections on facebook and media sites about a travel bubble with Australia to see the move towards a bubble with the Islands instead due to some Australian states still having double digit daily new cases.
