The flight has some significance as the last international QF A380 flight we expect to see till mid 2023:

The final international Qantas A380 flight until at least 2023. All Qantas A380s will soon be in California for storage. Qantas has said mid-2023 is the earliest any of the 12 could fly again.

My impression was that the Interjet Airbuses were still there and the Alaska 737s have left, but I'm not certain - will check next time I'm in the area.

VCV Update (September 27, 2020, pictures taken on Sept 25, 2020):
Split-view these images: https://www.instagram.com/p/CFnhHRHBGd3/

Picture 1: Not much has changed, Qantas in the north-east corner, note the Air New Zealand 77W in the left hand corner. Delta 763 (top), 717 (left), and A330 (top) stored back here too, looks like these will have an extended stay at VCV. That line-up facing away from the camera continues to be something which I am very excited to shoot, I think it will make an excellent shot...(especially as the beautiful LH MD-11F is leading the lineup)
Picture 2: Pretty much the same image, note the SJ 737 next to the scrapping block. Looks like she'll be gone soon
Picture 3: Now here's some 'good' (new, haven't seen before) stuff: The 787s are being stored on the asphalt right next to the NTU 748 N828BA, it will likely be hard to shoot those due to the Southwest and Delta aircraft, but I'll give it a try when I go. It looks like 3 787s are also stored in amongst the Delta aircraft at the intersection just north of the Southwest 737MAXs. On the left, it looks like they are scrapping a United 747, so scrapping rates at VCV have definitely gone up with the utilization of two pads. Nice to see both L1011s are still alive (left of center (white/blue) and extreme left). That horizontal row of Southwest 737s at the very bottom of the image is new, and another sign that VCV are getting creative with where to park aircraft.
Picture 4: A nice overview of VCV, note Juneyao 789 B-20EC in the beautiful all-red scheme on the far right.
Picture 5: Pretty much the same pic
Picture 6: Qantas A380 VH-OQI at the south ramp, with Vietnam 787-10 and China Southern 787-9 in the top of the image. Definitely will be a treat to shoot those.

Side note: I've seen the transponder on for Qantas 787-9 VH-ZNM, and it was parked in the area directly next to the GE hangar....VCV is cramming aircraft where ever they'll fit.

The Alaska 737's at ONT are quite strange in that many started to leave but then they have since been coming back to ONT. I just drove by about a week ago and there were quite a few parked at the 300 gates, between Terminals 2 and 4. I don't work at the tower there anymore but my buddy had sent me a few pictures of them too. It's very sad.

It is painted in Shanghai colors, but it is owned by China Eastern. This photo (first link, uploaded August 19) suggests that, as the caption reads "Brand new Shanghai Airlines/China Eastern 787-9 on the Boeing Everett flight line this morning," and on the 2nd link (spreadsheet) says that B-20EV was rolled out on August 12th. So the dates suggest that the aircraft pictured is indeed B-20EV which has the distinct tail design of Shanghai Airlines. It was at PDX before flying to VCV (looks like I had a typo on my original post, apologies for that), where Boeing paint their planes. I haven't actually seen an image of it in the full livery, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't in the Shanghai Airlines livery.

Singapore Airlines 787-10 filed SIN-VCV 8AM - 8:30AM as SQ8878 for structural repairs at the Boeing hangar. No registration yet, but it looks like 9V-SCI will be the most likely as she hasn't flown since late August, which is just a week or so before Boeing released that there were issues with the 787. 9V-SCM hasn't flown in a while, but her last flight was in mid September so she can be ruled out, and 9V-SCA hasn't flown since July, likely due to reasons that are NOT related to the structural issue (I don't think even Boeing knew enough to tell operators back then).

Visited MHV today, missed the KLM 747 by 2 minutes after a stop-over at PMD for the NASA U-2. Not too much of a loss as I was able to see her on the ground. However, a bigger development is that Northrop Grumman's L1011, N140SC, has been repainted with the brand new Northrop Grumman tiles after a visit to SBD on August 18 (my image from today in the first link below). Strangely, not a single flight tracking website (FlightAware, FR24, Radarbox, or ADSBExchange) recorded her return leg SBD-MHV (2nd group of links). Previously it was claimed that she only had two or so missions left, but the addition of new tiles and a high undetectability suggest that it may be used for military purposes (especially after the several visits to EDW in early August).

Well it looks like my analysis was correct, 9V-SCI landed moments ago at VCV. Skyliner says that it was ferried to VCV for 'modifications,' probably what I elaborated on earlier. Hoping to get departure sometime...

I bet N538US is headed here, MRO Holdings (a.k.a. Flightstar), which is located at VQQ. They specialize in heavy maintenance, but also passenger-to-freight conversions, including B757's.

Swift Air 737-800 N276EA flying DEN-VCV as WQ3521. Filed VCV-SAN 3PM - 3:49PM as WQ3525. Note that this is an ex Eastern Airlines 737-800 and it looks like it still retains that paint scheme.

I bet N538US is headed here, MRO Holdings (a.k.a. Flightstar), which is located at VQQ. They specialize in heavy maintenance, but also passenger-to-freight conversions, including B757's.

https://mroholdings.com/facilities/flightstar/

They are a maintenance vendor for DL that primarily does work on the B752s.
They did the repair work on the 752 that had the bent fuselage after the hard landing in PDL a little while back.
Another DL B752 is leaving VQQ tomorrow and returning to service that had been there since early in the year, so its likely hence why they sent another B752 there for maintenance.

I believe they have also done some 717 work in the past.

B6 also sends A320s through there as well.
