Skywest parking at Salina and Central Wisconsin?

Wed May 06, 2020 5:51 pm

Has anyone been able to get pics from Salina, or CWA?
The Skywest pilot boards are talking about all of the jets currently parked at the normally almost-deserted Salina, Kansas Airport.
Makes sense they would be there, used to be a very large military facility, with huge amounts of ramp space.
Looks like 20 (?) CRJ-900 at SLN, and 19(?) CRJ-200’s at CWA?
Would love to see pics of it, if anyone is in the area.

For CWA, are you sure they're OO jets? I'm asking because 9E has a maintenance bases there.

I may be mistaken, those are likely Endeavor planes.

Could be either; it just struck me as odd (all the more so, with OO having their base in MKE).

Skywest has some CRJ-900 at FAT I was told. I think Skywest is parking all or most DL CRJ-900 thru the end of June. I think they will only operate 175/CR2 and 1 or 2 CR7 for ASE service thru the end June for DL. Endeavor's planes are at CWA, SLN, TYS plus a couple other scattered places.

Thought it would be interesting to see a pick of those jets sitting at normally sleepy Salina. Too far for a jaunt from here, though.

Does anyone know if you can get decent pics at CWA? I can poke around with Google Maps, but thought I’d ask here first.

SKW flew upwards of 9 of its CR6 aircraft from DTW to FAT last Sunday for storage.

CWA is where 9E temporarily parked their 200s, as they can rotate them in and out of service as needed from there. A number of 900s for 9E went to SLN, as they’ve been having some conformance checks done there, on the planes that they had been taking from GoJet.

Skywest had birds parked in SBN, FWA, COS, MKE and FAT (plus other places, I’m sure). They’ve started to move some Delta branded CR2 to IGM, as they’re losing 55 CR2 from now until the end of the year.

Do you know if there's a place somewhere on the perimeter to take decent photos of them?

Delta Connection Carrier Skywest has about a dozen or more CRJ7's and CRJ9 aircraft parked on their maintenance ramp and adjacent ramp at SBN (Covid19 Storage)

They also have a dozen or so mixed CRJ700 and 900's parked on the west terminal ramp and a taxiway at SBN and checking their webpage looks like it could be all of the 700's (7) and the rest 900's of which they have 31 in 76 seat configuration and 12 in 70 seat configuration. At least 25-30 of their jets are parked at SBN.

Skywest, a survivor in Red, White, and Blue is my opinion.

We just do not need reduced airline competition going forward. Just fleet rationalization for the Big Four.

Should be interesting to watch this one.

Most, if not all, of the CR6's (the 70 seaters) are parked in Fresno.

CR6= the old UA 65 seat configuration... if your talking about the 70 seat 900’s. They are coded CR8...

Anyway they have slightly less than 1/2 of their Delta Connection fleet parked at SBN for a total of 23 aircraft. Most of what is parked at SBN is CRJ900's

I've driven past CWA a few times and seen all those parked planes. Unfortunately, driving a tractor-trailer up and down I-39 doesn't really provide a good opportunity for pictures.

I passed CWA on Wednesday. No pics, but it looked like 7-8 CRJ- 200’s are still parked there? There may be more, as this was just me looking out the car window from the freeway.

Skywest 4611 N187PQ CRJ900 left storage today at SBN and flew to MSP for reintroduction tomorrow into the Delta Connection schedule. This leaves by my count only 6 OO CRJ900's jets left at SBN out of 23.

Endeavor isn't leasing anything to GoJet. The CM7's on the EDV certificate are all inwardly leased from DAL.

A handful of ships that were in the DL Connx group had been a) sold by SkyWest to GoJet or b) moved to "SkyWest Leasing" and leased to GoJet.
