I hope that the EWR Terminal One project can be expedited as well, take advantage of the low aircraft movements. Seems to me that it would make sense to close Terminal A, relocate those Term. A airlines into B (with reduced traffic is that even possible? Any room to spare in Terminal B to relocate everyone else temporarily?) so the airside/airfield portions of Terminal One can be completed more quickly with minimal disruption?

Newark has plenty of room for construction of Terminal One compared to LGA.

I was thinking the same thing.

Air traffic levels would have minimal effects on T1 construction speed.

Ramp work would be quicker. They could demo earlier. Beyond that not much

Any numbers for July on how many flights per day out of the airports? It would be interesting to see how the legacies and ULCCs are doing?

Really hope NY operations continue to increase. I hope EWR Terminal C isn’t a ghost town in July.

Anyone have any numbers for July. It will be interesting to see the operations across ULCCs and Legacies.

Domestically, I suspect that it will depend on what Florida does, as they're still imposing quarantine on travelers from NY, NJ, and CT...and that's the bread-and-butter of B6 (on this, I could see New York suing Florida if it isn't lifted by next week). The new T1 at EWR and the reconstruction at LGA will finish. However, beyond that, it could be a long time before anything else gets done.

I never really understood that quarantine order for New Yorkers to Florida, I flew down here but never was handed quarantine order papers (albeit I flew through Charlotte) so I feel like the quarantine order was more political theater to put the retirees in Tampa who are scared of anything and everything at ease.

B6 though has some stupid fares out of NYC, you see $60 one ways out of EWR to FLL but $250 out of JFK so I don't know what's going on with their pricing.

Flights are slowly coming back to New York,

AA is finally adding back a 1x daily flight of LGA-CMH delta still has not scheduled anything yet. Which is a far cry from the 12x daily between the 2 that I can book for April next year (6x American and 6x Delta).

Things are going to take a while to come back but I feel things will start ramping up a lot more since phase 1 starts Monday and there is certainly a rush to get people back to work, even though corporate travel is going to take a long while to come back.

Regarding T1 JFK where I work, it's a ghost town.

AF CDG going to 1x daily next week. 2x Daily July.

Saudia up to 20 flights per month shortly.

Aeroflot - every now and then.

EVA - seems 1x daily.

KE seems 1x daily.

MU and CA pax flights 1x every couple of days.

LH, OS, Norwegian, Turkish, InterJet no flights scheduled currently.

JL have not seen for a while.

PR very infrequent.

Security = superfast!

DY won't be resuming long haul flights until 2021 (that's if they actually are in business by then). AZ restarted JFK-FCO operating a handful of times per week. Very bizarre and surreal to see T1 so empty of people and air traffic. It is not a great terminal at all, but this time of year (and year round for that matter) absent a global health crisis, it would be bursting at the seams.

I have flown out of T1 a couple of times. To be honest, I have never seen it busy before 5:00PM. Even at peak times, T1 never seems to have the packed feeling that other JFK terminals have. Don’t get me wrong, I have been there when it has been quite busy.

They should have built more “A gates” at T4 and then demolish T1.

Initial stages of merging T1 into T4 is beginning soon, with the demolition of the parking garage at T1 (according to folks I know who park their cars there).

It is the perfect time. Whether PANYNJ has the funding in in place given recent events, I guess time will tell. But I continually hear from people work will begin soon.
