Corsair 747 fly by over Kemble.

Fri Jun 12, 2020 11:53 am

F-HSEA just done a couple of fly bys over Kemble from Orly.
Also did a loop over Orly too. I assume it’s some kind of special occasion, maybe the last
Corsair 747 flight?

Last Tuesday, F-HSUN was also ferried to GBA. Now only F-GTUI remains to be ferried to its final place.

Thanks for the post. I wasn’t aware that Corsair was one of the few airlines that operated all 747 models except the -8. Interesting.

Is there a way to find out which bird I flew in 2002 ? My only 747 flights so far.

Can't give you the exact one, but it's one of those: F-GSEA, F-GSEX, F-GSKY, F-GSUN or F-HJAK. All -300s and former SQ.

Depends if you took pictures, and if you did, what kind of pictures you have (look for nose gear with the last reg letters, rear fuselage with full reg, special livery, ...)

Other than that, you might ask for Corsair's old archived flight logs if you know someone working there (and if they haven't been destroyed yet). FR24 is a dead end obviously haha.

Also try to search aviation websites, if you have the date of your flight and are very lucky, someone might have taken a picture...

There are plenty of planes I flew from the mid-90s to the mid-2000s from which I didn't collect the reg/take proper pictures. I feel a lot of remorse now.

I'm pretty sure I've kept the tickets/boarding passes, I will have to look for them. It was charter flights for the WYD2002, Paris (probably Orly) to Mirabel and the return was from Toronto. A plane full of young catholics, I would like to know if we flew on F-GSEX, since sex was the main theme of the trip :D

Around 14-18 July for the first leg and the return would have been the 29 or 30th July 2002.

Saw one at Guadeloupe in Feb, beautiful bird, didn't expect it'd be history already.

Yes, it's a little airline but in 27 years they managed to operate 23 different 747s with five different versions.

It's part of their strategy to move to an all A330 fleet.

Sorry to tell you that, but now it's only in your mind since neither of AT or KL are still operating the 747.

Another 747, TF-AAD, also arrived at Kemble on 17th June from Liege for scrapping. This one is ex Saudi Arabian airlines.
