Private 747 visits YVR annually
A few yeras back a nice 747 was parked near South Runway at YVR. An airline guy told me it was a middle eastern business magnate or royal that was dropping off his family to do a weeks shopping in Vancouver. Likely it was a 744 but not sure. Do not recall any standout livery but my contact said it was an annual event. Any ideas on where the plane comes from? Apparently it had a very cool modified elevator for it passengers.

My uninformed guess is that the plane was a 744 VIP probably owned by Kingdom Aircraft II LLC aka Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. I think the poor guy was arrested in late 2017 as part of a Saudi sweep and released fairly soon after. Maybe that plane and other jumbo business jets are considered too ostentatious in the new era of the ruling elite and heirs to Saudi Arabia's vast fortunes.
