Heres what I would do in an Alex Cruz style -
Ditch LGW (short and longhaul)
Ditch a lot of the leisure routes
Watch the smaller new start US Routes eg San Jose, Charleston, Portland etc
Reduce UK domestic frequency significantly and cut shorter domestics.
Cull older 777’s /A319s
Ditch the A380’s
Offload BACF, low cost off shoots and Aer Lingus (Ibex/Vueling).
Ditch First Class
Ditch Thailand, Sydney and some South American routes.

Once the market stabilizes somewhat, I fully expect QR to join the AA/IAG/AY transatlantic JBA.

Aer Lingus said expects “significant redundancies” as it posted €316million loss in the three months from April to June.

Company also said it would review operations in Cork and Shannon airports.
“Aer Lingus is also reviewing the scale of our flying programme from Cork and Shannon Airports and the ongoing viability of our regional bases there.”

Incorrect headline from the Mirror, that was Aer Lingus' complete first half loss, its loss for the three months from April to June was €96 million.

Q2 loss by airline;

Aer Lingus: -98
British Airways: -711
Iberia: -277
Vueling: -181

Q2 Margin by airline;

Aer Lingus: -137.1%
British Airways: -197.0%
Iberia: -99.3%
Vueling: -2801.1%
