I see the DL is further trimming it’s August schedule that it first cut a few weeks ago. They added/ cut less from the pre Covid schedule than in July but some stuff continues to fall out month to month like DTW-SNA.

Are you thinking Redmond, WA - Microsoft? RDM is Redmond, OR.

It’s commuters who work in the Bay Area. Presumably AS is betting there will be even more of those people in the future.

Prineville, OR is home to one of Facebook’s first and largest Datacenters. Apple also has a large datacenter in Prineville. And Redmond serves Bend, OR, where many Bay Area people hav been moving.

Three new flights is a lot of extra lift for an airport the size of RDM!

No, i was wondering what is driving the market for this flight. Seems unlikely, unless there’s a business connection.

Thanks Enilria for this thread, as always.

MSP-MEX is a relatively new route that never had much time to develop or be tested. Given that international travel will be down for a while, I am guessing DL didn’t think there was a need for this flight in the immediate term. I would attribute it more to Covid and International travel being down than AM’s Chpt11 (even though Covid is the primary reason for the Chpt11). MEX is still easily available for much of the MSP cachement area via ATL or DTW.

Exactly. Most cities that would connect over MSP can still be reached via a combination of DTW/SLC/ATL. You're basically going back to having some of the smaller MSP-only spokes having to double connect (as well as those who had flown nonstop going back to flowing over ATL).

Ah, that’s probably it. Thanks.

In addition to connecting options available through DTW, SLC, or ATL, DL also offers connections onto AM's DFW-MEX, IAH-MEX, and AUS-MEX nonstop flights from MSP and other DL hubs.

Interesting upgauges worthy of noting in August for DL: JFK-DTW went from 2x RJ and 2x mainline to 4x mainline (A320/A319 mix) and JFK-ORD returns with 2x CR9 and 1x A220 (previously a mix of CR9s and E175s). Delighted.

Someone is going to lose out. WN is taking a step back in sitting this one out. Or that there schedule is not loaded. It will be interesting to see if B6 can stick this out along with NK.

If I had to guess, JetBlue will probably not start most of the newly announced routes. My guess is SJU will go ahead due to their strength their. PBI will probably go ahead too. Everything seems unnecessary at the moment. This NK/F9 piss match is going to ruin them both at PHL.
