An-124 in Rhode Island

Mon Aug 31, 2020 4:52 pm

An AN-124 was seen in rhode island earlier today being loaded with American Magic's boat two for the America's Cup. While the destination is obviously Auckland, New Zealand. I know nothing about airports in the NE of America. Which airport is it, and more importantly how would one go about tracking it so we know when it lands?

The only airport in Rhode Island that would have that kind of infrastructure from the Reddit pic would likely be PVD

Quonset Point, too. Been in there with C-5 many times, no reason an AN-124 couldn’t use it.

Absolutely. I think in my original reply above I should have been more specific to say "the terminal infrastructure in the picture" (you can see what looks like an airport passenger terminal)

Pretty amazing considering the Ruslan's wingspan is 2 Rhode Islands wide.
