Not as far as I can tell. If anyone missed this TheDrive.com article from 28 September with some more details, here you go: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/3 ... t-near-lax

Another sighting today.

FAA says at 145pm today a China Airlines flight reporting seeing an individual wearing a jet pack had been reported flying at about 6,500 feet.

If someone is really out there riding around in a jetpack, they will eventually brag and boast about it to the wrong person and get themselves caught.

Or slam into a jet going 200kts...pick your poison, really....

Hopefully, the jet will go by him and give him control problems. He can't possibly be fly by wire....maybe he has MCAS on his legs to help him out.

This is one of our flights. When we asked the flight crews about the encounter, they just replied with a smile and said they are not all that surpised with anything that happened here in LA...

They are doing some controlled testing on these jetpacks for paramedics operating in hilly terrain. but I'm sure no one involved in the testing is taking these models home. Someone said it could be a hidden drone attached to a mannequin.

That’s awesome that from the audio the same sector was also working an IDAHO a/c in the vicinity.

IDAHO is a telephony used by various federal law enforcement agencies, probably were up doing some aerial surveillance lol.

Replaying on FR24, looks like it happened right about above Culver City as flight was on downwind leg

Looks great, but would they work at 6,500ft ?

If I were the one investigating these, this is one of the first places I would look. Their jetpacks' ceiling is 15,000 feet.

If you overlay the Google map below with that flightaware map of CAL6 flight path shown in post 62 above, CAL6 flight came in almost directly over Moorpark, CA where those jetpacks are being tested. Moorpark is just above Thousand Oaks in the area labeled "Arroyo Vista Community Park" on that Google map.

If they drifted south testing one of those, it would bring them even closer to LAX. And, if it's not the company itself doing this, the next best place to go would be their customer list.

Except the plane would be well over 10,000 feet when over Moorpark - 12,000-13,000 per FR24 replay.

This occurred at 6,500 right smack over LA basin, similar to the previous sightings, not way north in the LA suburbs.

Here's a little more information on the jetpack guy. There is some speculation that it may be a drone. Also, you might want to click on the video of the guy in a jetpack flying in Dubai. He "parachuted" back to earth.

Same reason you'd get a jetpack to begin with - the thrill of danger! :D
