Not sure what that is but don’t believe it’s Liberty. They usually fly out of LYH or ROA, and they wouldn’t use an E135 for football

It weird because I cant find any other charter or flight from ROA/LYH going to SYR. And considering how far they are from each other you'd think they would fly.

This is preliminary information, but with the Florida Gators football team having some players tested for COVID, Mizzou will now host Kentucky in lieu of the road game at Florida next Saturday, whereas Mizzou will now schedule their road game at Florida on Saturday, 10/31. More information on the Kentucky charter will come later next week.

I saw that this afternoon. Weird that FR24 was showing as cancelled, and a Swift plane flew into MGM last night. It sat in MGM today, and it hasn't left yet. Nothing scheduled for it. My best guess is that Eastern Kentucky bussed today to Troy for their game tomorrow (can't find any flight for them), and Swift might be flying them home from MGM instead of bussing back tomorrow so it's possibly just staging for that flight tomorrow.

Navy on WN for East Carolina: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SWA ... /KBWI/KPGV
Texas State on SY to face South Alabama: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SCX ... /KAUS/KBFM
USF on SY to face Temple: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SCX ... /KTPA/KPHL
UCF was on Allegiant today into Memphis: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAY ... /KSFB/KMEM
Ole Miss took SY today instead of the National 757 they used last time: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SCX ... /KTUP/KXNA
Took a long time to find because I would have suspected them to fly into SAV and also not use BDL but here's UMass into AGS for Georgia Southern on Swift: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SWQ ... /KBDL/KAGS
North Texas flew into BNA for MTSU on G4, after dropping off, aircraft made a quick 9 minute flight over to MQY to be closer to pick up the team tomorrow night: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N25 ... /KAFW/KBNA
Marshall into MLU for LA Tech on SY: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SCX ... /KHTS/KMLU

that should cover all of the D1 flights I believe. Think we've found all

I mentioned that a few posts up, but I’m starting to think it’s not. Cant see anything filed. A Swift 738 flew into BHM today as well, and a United 753 will be at BHM headed to ELP tomorrow for presumably a military charter. The swift 738s at BHM and MGM might be military charters as well

That's pretty normal, actually, for a scheduled carrier to file only an hour or so prior to departure. Charter flights are only "late" filers, because these flights aren't otherwise publicly known.

I was wondering how Eastern Kentucky University got to and from Troy. My quick dirty search found nothing, but maybe not out of question the flights were blocked from the likes of Flight Aware. Otherwise, kind of a long way to take a bus although not uncommon for smaller schools to do so.

When flying, EKU (at Richmond KY) and their opponents normally use LEX.

I accompanied a private pilot into what is now the Central Kentucky Regional Airport (RGA) near Richmond about two decades ago, nice field. I see RGA's runway is now about 5000 ft which is similar to EYW (Key West FL). EYW has regular service by A319s and E170s among other smaller jetliners even if they may need some payload restrictions at times. But RGA is actually closer to Berea KY than Richmond, together with RGA having less than great ground access. So it still may be better for chartered airliners to use LEX. Not sure if RGA is stressed for the weight of something like an A319, let alone if there is adequate space and equipment to service an A319.

AHN is a less extreme version of CRW with regard to any runway extension (I've flown as passenger in private plane into AHN, visited CRW via car). AHN has much milder elevation drop offs than CRW so extending AHN might be doable, but would still be costly and maybe not so pragmatic for just a few sports charters a year.

I've heard A220s could probably do AHN ok but it might take a while to get enough 220s to put them on charters.

Has there been anything like an A320 or 738 at AHN since the recent runway extension? A 752 with its high power to weight ratio could do AHN's current main runway but not sure what AHN's runways/taxiways are stressed for above a 717.

I have seen Swift 734's use AHN for charters in recent years. Not sure about a 738 though

Well, a big factor is part 139 certification, of which RGA is not. However, as you alluded to, it would need a large infrastructure upgrade to handle more than even a CRJ. A 737 would likely run off the taxiway.

First flight for Nebraska will be on a UA 739 to Columbus: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL ... /KLNK/KCMH
Auburn will use the typical DL 738 out of CSG but will go to TUP instead of MEM (some teams playing Ole Miss have gone into TUP, others into MEM): https://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL ... /KCSG/KTUP
Alabama will use a DL752 to go to TYS: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL ... /KATL/KTCL

Chartering is usually fixed price so if you have the availability may as well use the more fuel-efficient aircraft cause you have to pay the mortgage either way

Did no one explain to Hawaii that one of the beauties of a charter is you can usually fly into an airport very close to your destination, and that FAT is fully capable of handling an A321?

Hawaiian's charters tend to be strange just due to the economics of what they do. Sometimes, they'll fly commercial to LAX or LAS or somewhere and then charter from there. The aircraft they used, N205HA, flew SMF-HNL after the charter as a revenue flight (HAL79). So, I presume it was much cheaper to charter a HNL-SMF flight and then have the aircraft perform a ticketed flight back to HNL from SMF.

Not positive on this one, but this might be a charter for Hawaii. They play at Wyoming next week and might be staying in Denver for the week to come. If anyone knows anything else, feel free to chime in: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SWA ... /KFAT/KDEN

Didn't catch that. Interesting. Looks like DL8909, which I posted earlier about for Michigan, never happened, and they did a last second swap to SY.

Kentucky at Missouri for the rescheduled Mizzou Homecoming Game, flying a DL A321 (LEX-COU):

This is the second DL A321 flying to COU, after LSU was the first team to do so; usually I expect a DL B752; now I get to see the newer DL A321s! Was wondering if these A321s would replace DL's B752s?

I think thats the plan. I dont understand why they would put newer 321s on charters and not their 757s (seeing as thats their iconic charter aircraft) but I imagine they charter them based on avalibility

Chartering is usually fixed price so if you have the availability may as well use the more fuel-efficient aircraft cause you have to pay the mortgage either way

I also imagine there are more A321s avialible, given the situation im sure there are a bit more 757's being mothballed than 321s

Did no one explain to Hawaii that one of the beauties of a charter is you can usually fly into an airport very close to your destination, and that FAT is fully capable of handling an A321?

Hoping this is pure sarcasm...

Not really. Hawaii must be hard up for money, their next charter (to play Wyoming) was a WN 737 from FAT to DEN, and another long bus ride. That also seems really odd to me...at least they didn't drive all the way back to SMF though...

I find it hilarious that Rutgers is using a UA 753 to head over to Michigan State. For such a sad football program, I guess they like to travel in style!

So sad, yet they beat Michigan State

Maybe this is why Mercer used CSG instead of MCN or even ATL. The SY aircraft they took back is doing what seems like a military charter out of CSG now. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/SCX ... /KCSG/KLRD

Nice pictures! It's always cool to see pics on this website from Missouri. It doesn't seem like we have too many spotters here.
