Atlasglobal used to send their A330 from times to times, must have been due to the demand!
Probably a good market for double daily post-Covid for KLM!

I assume KLM operated a daily flight to IST when KK was still around. Because KLM didn’t down gauge to a weekly flight to IST. KK was operating twice daily flights to Amsterdam during high season. But it surprises me that KL is operating two daily flights on those particular days during these hard covid days.

Loads are over 95%

Remember IST-AMS is not just about the Turkish-Netherlands market.
In these COVID times AMS has become the busiest airport in Europe in number of flights, because SKYTEAM partners are able to maintain a significant hub operation at AMS.
The cancellation of flights at many other hubs, forces the remaining traffic over the few European airports that maintain a 'connecting' network.

Emirates to resume regular business class service as of 15.10

https://onemileatatime.com/emirates-bri ... r-showers/

Will this be some kind of incentive for TK to finally resume a decent service level?

Are you referring to "operational leases" (being leased from another airline or from some leasing company, for a period of say 2 to 8 years, or so) or "financial leases" (where eventually after 10-12 years or so lease period expires, the leased plane(s) may become airlines' own property) or maybe both?
TK doesn't have too many of the first kind in their fleet, but has a biiig inventory based on the second...

But are the oldest 738s, 321s and 320s (TC-JP*) leased? Weren't they taken into complete possession after having turned 12 years?

You “have to” stay home for 10 days when you come back from Turkey. But to be honest, out of my own experience and observations, no one does this. Not only for Turkey, but for people who come from countries that are marked as orange.

Air France formally retired its A340 fleet this week after 22 years of service.

Interesting that the retirement flight F-GLZK and bearing the colors of Joon, operated one way retirement flight October 12, 2020 to Istanbul.

I wonder who will pick up this airframe, as I suppose the one-way journey to Turkey was planned to coincide with new owners maintenance overhaul needs.

Maybe Turkish spotters can keep an eye on this aircraft in the coming weeks.

About 100 at the moment. Though the flights tend to book very late and also accommodate other airline cancellations at the last moment so could easily get many more passengers prior to departure. For example, tomorrow's flight is over 80% booked.

Enjoy the trip.

I'm sure that you are following it very closely, but what about that cancelled (postponed) ferry flight of the 15th Dreamliner TC-LLP. What may be that last minute glitch that still keeps this bird on ground since the last 48 hrs.?

Not sure. TC-LLP has been photographed flying since the beginning of July. One source shows it as "Delivered on Oct 15th", others still say "Due". It is no longer on the 787 Production/Delivery/Stored list. ???

Well, I'm not living in ISTAirport. But, AFAIK, it didn't land at IST at the first scheduled date/time you recognized. A tleast, one of the local sites would have mentioned its arrival (particularly bcz. it's the 15th bird to join the fleet...). Neither FR24 nor Flightaware show any recent flights by TC-LLP. That probably is enough evidence that it's still in US soil.

Strange???

Sounds like some real monkey business going on at former Borajet.

14 Borajet executives were under investigation for money laundering and connected to a larger decade-long US$1Bil fraud scheme in the U.S !

https://www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news ... lines-case

As we discussed here in past years, many had doubts about Borajet and their business activities. Seems we might now know where the money came to prop up the loss-making venture.

Great news,

Did TK introduce their former business class on board service back? Or are the meals and services still a disaster? If it’s not the same as usual, I don’t want to upgrade for my flight tomorrow.

Does IST still offer COVID19 PCR testing? Is it safe to do the testing on the day of departure if traveling on an airline that requires a negative PCR test?

Just talked to my friend who travelled to IST from the US and returned recently. According to him, non citizens could get a test paying a high fee but he was told if no symptoms no test. So AFAIK, no requirement to get tested at IST. He had to search really hard to get tested on his way back to the US, in Bodrum.
Please let us know how it goes. Bon Voyage.

Thats a tricky one...no symptom does not mean necessarily that you dont have the virus..Quite the contrary, which is why it s such a pain in the tooshie and gets so easily transmitted...Dont they have country-list in Turkey for arriving pax, determining which ones should be tested depending on the country/city of arrival (high-risk areas)?

AFAIK, Turkey is one of handful of countries in the world, that does not have any restrictions on arriving pax. Please correct me if I am wrong.

As of 2 weeks ago, it's still an unmitigated disaster. What's worse, the staff can't be bothered to even check on their passengers so if you want a second drink you have to go to the galley. I wish this airline the worst.

This has been going on for such a long time.
Many years ago when the fleet was tiny, they had a pretty good system. I especially like how they named the A310 fleet after rivers in Turkey.
Then when more and more planes joined the fleet, they lost interest.
They have many planes with no names. They have/had multiple planes with the same name
For such a large company, they have no clear plans to name their aircraft :(
I would love to be that person to do this for free. Please someone let TK know that I am available for such a task :)

I can also be a volunteer to name planes. Unfortunately unnamed planes is a sign of loosing the company culture.
The future is in the skies.

They will start serving hot meals soon but no menu detail yet. It is little bit tricky, catering companies reduced capacity because of corona, I heard some locations can not provide hot meals.

Regarding to 350 routes, they will do Manila and Taipei flights for now. Of course there will be domestic orientation flights.

Is Dubai like actually confirmed? Because some aviation news sites report that the launch date of IST - DXB has been delayed constantly due to the worsened political ties between Turkey and UAE.

Is Dubai like actually confirmed? Because some aviation news sites report that the launch date of IST - DXB has been delayed constantly due to the worsened political ties between Turkey and UAE.

I just checked, no direct flights to DXB in NOV. Thanks for pointing that out.

Can you also pls. check the availability of those Saudi services in November? The relations between Turkey and KSA have also gone pretty much sour after
the embargo for Turkish origin merchandise by the Saudis.

AFAIK, EK also has not announced any flights to Turkey. I'm not sure about Saudia.
