B-757 LAN Chile

Wed Dec 23, 2020 8:03 pm

Hello, I have been visiting this forum for a long time, but never created an account - until today.

I have a B757 model and I am "customizing" it with the livery that it had when it operated in the old Lan Chile and the truth is that I would like to know a little more about the passage of this aircraft through LAN. I know that the only equipment came from LADECO and operated only one year, but none of the routes in which it was used or the configuration it had. For me the 757 must be one of the most elegant aircraft ever and with the old LAN livery it looked spectacular.

I remember seeing the LADECO 757 at JFK once, parked near the hangars as you approach what was then the old Eastern Air Lines Terminal that was replaced by Terminal One. It was a beautiful aircraft. I don't remember if Ladeco operated via LIM or another city on the JFK-SCL sector.

Hi! I flew in the 90s - must be that one year then - on a LAN 757 from CCS to MIA. I believe the routing was SCL-CCS-MIA. I remember the flight fondly, great service. It had IFE (tv screens in the aisle) and it played funny cartoons. A delicious hot pancake breakfast with maple syrup was served.

AFAIK, LAN Chile inherited only one from the merger with LADECO, CC-CYH. After just a year with LAN it moved across the Andes to Argentina's LAPA. It continues to fly today as a freighter with FedEx as N995FD.

During its tenure with LAN it flew pretty much all over South America and to Miami.

UC also operated for a time at BWI as well, route JFK-BWI-MIA-SCL... I never saw their 757 there, but I remember seeing their A300 leased from Carnival @ BWI
