Does anyone understand the relationship between Air Leap and related brands Air Halland, Air Skane and possibly other brands ? Why does this exist ?
For a small airline, it all seems a bit unusual...

It’s kind of like a Starbucks pretending to be an independent cafe, or Walmart pretending to be a small corner store if that makes sense. They’re essentially all just Air Leap trading names to try and create the impression that they’re all little independent airlines solely serving one community, instead of one massive regional airline. I fail to see how this helps, but oh well.

I believe the predecessors to BRA tried something similar before all merging into BRA.

Yes. Seems to a Swedish thing. Malmo Aviation did it with various airlines each flying a Saab2000 with their own titles. Then they all got merged to become BRA. Now Air Leap will try again. Perhaps it’s easier to get money from the municipalities to support them if they promote the name?

GRA, Global Reach Aviation, an ACMI airline. They fly a pair of CRJ-100s out of Billund.

2 737-700 left the SAS fleet today. SE-RJT is on its way across the Atlantic to MZJ via BGR. While SE-RJU was flown to QLA this morning.

That should leave SAS with 15 737-700s left in their fleet, with some of them stored or being prepared to be returned to lessor already

DAT has been handed the Oslo-Florø route, as part of the minimum route offering during the Covid19-pandemic, and will be flying the route 2x daily from early July and to the end of September. Taking over the route from Widerøe.
At the same time, Widerøe has won the same "short term PSO contract" to operate Oslo-Ørsta/Volda, Bodø-Stokmarknes, Tromsø-Stokmarknes, Kirkenes-Tromsø and Vadsø-Tromsø

And today the Norwegian Department of Transportation released the competition to operate the Oslo-Stord route from early July to end of September. Which is currently operated by DAT

If they haven't received their AOC will they have to delay the launch of their first flights on June 30th?

Widerøe started their BGO-LHR route yesterday, and seems to increase the competition with SAS on BGO-SVG from September, increasing to 9x daily. About the same as SAS on the route. Norwegian is still showing only 2x daily here

When searching for flights from Oslo to New York, I notice that on 7th of July it says SAS flight SK907 is scheduled as an A350-900. Will that happen? I thought they planned SK907 with the A321LR. Will it be allowed for Norwegian’s to travel to the US without quarantine and how about the return trip?

I've seen very little in the press about them and their sole aircraft, TF-AEW, seems fairly inactive recently - delivery flight from Texas to Iceland, but not a lot else

Would on expect a) more of a publicity buzz and b).aircraft being take for short circuits over Rekjavik just to ensure everything seems OK with the aircraft - what some call a "shakedown" ?
I'm thinking of buying a ticket for their first day of ops but just don't see much in the way of activity or excitement related to thid

Yes that will happen. The 321LR launch is postponed. OSLEWR was communicated to be reopened on the 12th of may, with A330 and first flight on July 3rd. The A330 has been swapped to A350 on some departures.

That is really cool :-D The A350 is one of my favorite airplanes and it’s cool that SAS will start using it from Oslo. Is it permanent or temporary? When will SAS start flying with the A321LR and why are they delayed?

Everything is currently temporary..
The A321LR probably only works when passenger demand is back. The narrowbody can’t bring enough cargo, to cover cost, so it need passengers. Not the same for wide body (when cargo rates are this high)

That makes sense. Thank you for your reply. I checked that Europe and US has not yet reached an agreement to open borders even though several news outlets speculate it will happen soon.

The Icelandic newspaper "Morgunbladid" reports extensively on PLAY in its online edition today. Accordingly, an Airbus A 321neo will be started and further machines are to be added successively every fortnight, depending on the booking situation after Corona. There was a training flight yesterday, to Copenhagen, with the new aircraft.
