This is an aviation site - you can't claim airports if you don't fly to or from them !
EFHK wrote:I was recently doing a little road trip in Sweden* (thanks to which I can now place e.g. THN, HAD, KID & RNB on the map), and got wondering a bit more about flights to the medium-sized towns of Sweden somewhat close to Stockholm, that have decent airports, but not really proper service (such as KSD, GVX, NRK, JKG, ORB, BLE).
These airports appear to be too close to Stockholm to sustain service there, but could they still hold enough demand to sustain service elsewhere? Could there be potential with e.g. SK flying ATRs to CPH to connect with the world? I recall that bmi Regional had some flights in Sweden (to FRA?), and KL flies to LPI, that is a pretty similar town compared to the other ones? Also, SK does (usually) fly from ARN to TKU, TMP & VAA, which to me appear to be pretty similar cases?
This has probably been discussed before, but I admit that I haven't paid so close attention to it previously.
(*Yes, naughty, I know... But when your longest contacts in the country are the hotel receptionists, the risks are most likely significantly lower than when hanging at the local neighborhood pubs in Helsinki (which would have been the most likely alternative pastime).)

BMI regional flew FRA-JKG-KSD before they seized operations. SAS also flew CPH-LPI with ATRs until a few years ago.

Didn't also several of these regional airport to hub-flights also have a significant financial contribution from either the airport or the local municipalities (or both)

Do you know how much they got from the Estonian government? Why were they looking to sell?

That’s sad. He did a very good job turning the airline around and keeping it from extinction. Who will follow? Anyone believe they are calling Eivind Roald?

Likewise. Skellefteå is Norrland's boom town right now, with Northvolt's vast EV battery factory under construction and lots of third party suppliers popping up around it.

It was also announced about a year ago, but never started due to COVID

Also flights from Skopje are banned once again, too many covid incidents.

- Initial start with 5-8 737-800, acquired or leased at low prices from Q2 2021 (I assume probably towards the end of the quarter)
- 7 domestic Norwegian destinations and 5 international. I've seen CPH mentioned, besides that I would assume popular holiday destinations around the Mediterranean i.e AGP, NCE, PMI, ALC or similar
- Trying to raise 600 MNOK in capital
