The WN 8-K filed 10/21/21 said 72 frames on order for 2022. Did I miss something? Frames coming from leasing companies?
Based on 72 MAX firm orders planned for 2022, the Company's contractual aircraft capital expenditures for 2022 are now estimated to be approximately $1.7 billion, compared with its previous guidance of $1.6 billion.

So I was going off the 3rd Quarter Earnings report… 72 firm with 42 options… so possibly 114 frames… more than I remembered… if all are taken than averages just more than 2 frames a week for the year…

I’m hearing that WN will not be operating the Max 7 until May 2022. We need to get our staffing up first.

As stated previously,

Currently there are 7 manufactured which includes 2 test frames.

6744 1E001 42561 N7201S 737-7 Southwest Airlines (Test Frame stored at BFI)
6798 1E002 42569 N7202U 737-7 Southwest Airlines (Test Frame stored at MWH)
7455 1E003 42586 N7203U 737-7 Southwest Airlines (Stored at MWH)
7485 1E004 42587 N7204U 737-7 Southwest Airlines (Stored at RNT - Has not flown)
7510 1E005 42588 N7205U 737-7 Southwest Airlines (Stored at RNT - Has not flown)
7545 1E006 42589 N7206U 737-7 Southwest Airlines (Stored at MWH)
7570 1E007 42590 N7207Z 737-7 Southwest Airlines (Stored at MWH)

As for any more arriving, I haven't seen any arrive on rail cars, but it's possible but doubtful. Until they certify the MAX7, it's doubtful that any will enter final before then.

For the unidentified customers the working understanding from this thread is:
3x 737-700W - UK AEW&C Programme
2x 737-800 - Unidentifiable, likely not to be delivered
2x BBJ2 - Government of Poland - L/Ns 7152, 7297
==

I also note that 2x 700Ws were cancelled at some point too, leaving just one frame there, for the RAF and is in the firing order for later this year/next (BBJ fuselage to be an E-7A).

The 2 Polish frames are still been modified at Bordeaux and not yet delivered to the PLF. One did some systems testing on the remote Swedish test ranges a few months back but is back at Bordeaux for further work.

Thanks RobK! I’ve been away from a.net for a few months because of general life busyness, finally catching up on things now. What does this mean for the AEW&C? A couple of extra used frames picked up from somewhere? Or reallocated as BBJ on the order book? I see 7152 and 7297 were delivered at the end of last month, so that’s all she wrote except for E-7s (if there is even more than one of those) and P-8s.

Sorry for the meander back down NG lane, we return you to your regularly scheduled MAX programming now.

A new Canadian ULCC airline Lynx Air launched today, they say they have agreements for 46 737-8s, with the 1st deliveries in early 2022.

https://www.flylynx.com/

Lynx will operate a fleet of Boeing’s newest 737 aircraft, featuring leading-edge fuel-efficient technology. The airline has firm orders and lease agreements in place for a total of 46 aircraft over the next seven years to meet anticipated demand. The first three Boeing 737s will arrive in early 2022.

Boeing also tweeted this

With delivery slots in early 2022 we should see some of the 3 frames in production or in rework (if they are white tails) very soon.

Lynx Air is Enerjet rebrand for ULCC ops (they bury that information in the “About Lynx” section of their PR). Enerjet had 3 Maxes publicly on order, and some (all three?) built but not yet delivered in a colorful but looks like abandoned livery:

I’m assuming those are going to be the first three frames.

Aha, that makes sense. I already thought that these 1st deliveries were a bit too quick for a completely new airline. And also yet another Canadian ULCC, how many of those can exist next to each other.

They've been through more rebrands than I've had hot dinners. Canada has got to be the top country for failed airlines or ones that never even got off the ground. 46 maxes in an already saturated market and with roughly half the population denied air travel? I'll believe it when I see it.

The pace Boeing is delivering Max is unbelievable. A good turnaround for the program although Boeing sales can not sell it despite the fact that Airbus Neo line is sold out until 2025.

Agreed. 10-15 per month when it used to be about 50 is indeed "unbelievable". It will take them a decade to clear the backlog at this glacial pace.

EI-GZA is Norwegian NTU which is stored about two years. AMX is leasing LN7456/LN7569/LN7681/LN7710/LN7730 from SMBC, on top of the 12 leased from DAE capital. All the frames listed here are NTU frames and about two years old. Out of the 12 leased from DAE, Comair and FlyEgypt NTUs have flown out.

There are a mix of all categories.
1) Stored even before grounding due ntu. (minority, eg Jet Airways ntu)
2) Built during (or slightly before) and stored during grounding (majority of stored frames)
3) Built after grounding but stored (some of Ryanair's frames)
4) New builds (eg UA -8s, some Ryanairs)

There seem to be an equal mix of the latter 3 categories for recent deliveries. It really depends on the customer's order books, and airline-lessor agreements.

Is the delivery rate for Boeing deliberately or just incidentally different from the Airbus approach? Deliberate in that Boeing is not forcing airlines to take deliveries, like Airbus, as a good seller point of view, or incidental in that they cannot force buyers to take planes because so many of these contracts are overdue and compensation is owed?

I'm hoping Chinese airlines will increase that delivery rate when, or if, the Max is certified again. A big part of the slow pickup is the 450 or so Maxes already delivered that need AOG support, which IIRC takes two weeks per plane for reactivation.

Think Smartwings managed a delivery direct to Prague as well. Probably not much in it distance wise.

Is 8140 a Sunexpress ntu? Seems to have a XQ engine cowling (because of the orange).

Um….I think that’s the Boeing work vehicle’s lights you see there. I see no orange on the engine cowl.

Makes sense. I recently read that they take over some XQ frames so I thought maybe it’s one of them.

So I did a little research. I confused 8140 with 7468 which was a Sunexpress Germany ntu. But thank y’all for your replies!

MSN 44252 9V-MBH (SilkAir livery) has flown to BFI. She would be the 2nd Max delivered to SIA this year.

Any idea how long the aircraft could be at BFI before its accepted by the customer?
