IMO, FR is ordering MAX 10s soon. It has made comments about doing so multiple times this year, its just publicly negotiating.

In this case there's really no negotiating, he's made his bed with Team B. He may be wanting to pressure them into offering better prices, but one does have to wonder at what point does Boeing feel it has the orders it needs for its post-MCAS and post-pandemic recovery and won't be that willing to offer the kinds of discounts seen on the last rounds of big orders (AS, WN, FR, UA).

Agree, I debated how to phrase it - its negotiating price really. The statements have all indicated "if the price is right" so BA must not be giving FR the discount it wants. If I had to guess, FR used its credits with the additional MAX 8 200 order earlier and wants basically the same or something to to compensate a bit for those credits for the MAX 10.

Complete aside, FR plans 600 aircraft by 2026 (adding about 140, so retiring 60-70 with the full MAX 8 200 deliveries, if I'm doing math correct, which is always questionable). Apparently, EasyJet will decrease down to about 300 and Wizz will increase to a bit above 200. FR is impressively aggressive.

How many MAXs are currently in service worldwide? Not delivered but actually flying regularly.

Some kind of Boeing announcement today at Airbventure. PR folks wondering around, media, a podium set up for 3 Boeing execs and a United exec, with a Max and an Air Wisconsin 700 on the center show ramp.

Those UA MAX 8s are flying out of production, crazy! Nice to see some more Icelandair MAXs rolling out, sounds like they're really happy with them and may order some more.

In other news another Malta Air MAX 8 left BFI overnight, MAX 8 9H-VUB.
https://www.flightradar24.com/RYR82B/288f846a

I believe that makes 16 MAX deliveries this month

Southwest Airlines has lodged with the SEC their report for the second quarter of 2021. Enclosed were copies of Supplemental Agreements 13, 14 & 15 showing the proposed delivery schedule for their 737 Max aircraft. Following, I hope, are links to the relevant agreements.

Jet Airways ntu N533RL is currently flying BFI-PTY (filed). Any idea who is it going to? It isn't in the usual Panama reg that Copa's fleet has.

The spotters here in Panama (myself included) also have that same question. We're also considering the possibility that this particular MAX 8 could go with GOL or Aerolineas Argentinas.

^ GOL would be my bet as they are/were down for taking other JAI cancellations.

737 Max current location/storage status of the ones that have already flown but not yet delivered/flown away :

BFI = 53
RNT = 4
PAE = 1
MWH = 219
SKF = 50
VCV = 26
==
353 :(

Looking at my report last month I miscalculated and there were actually 358 not 333. So overall only a very small reduction in the storage numbers month on month.

Currently on its way in the general direction of Brazil.

Oddly enough, GOL managed to get this earlier than some of its own order in the PR-XMx series.

GOL to acquire 28 more 737MAX -
15 operating losses
9 sale-leasebacks
4 finance leases

Is this 13 new orders for Boeing? Does it include the Jet Airways aircraft now in Panama?

I would think that this includes N533RL, which did a test flight from CNF earlier today.

I don't know if VirginFlyer is still around from the now closed NG thread, but I notice that the 2 mystery outstanding 737-800 orders were cancelled in June, to bring that to a close.

==
[last post from V/F in the old thread]
For the unidentified customers the working understanding from this thread is:
3x 737-700W - UK AEW&C Programme
2x 737-800 - Unidentifiable, likely not to be delivered
2x BBJ2 - Government of Poland - L/Ns 7152, 7297
==

I also note that 2x 700Ws were cancelled at some point too, leaving just one frame there, for the RAF and is in the firing order for later this year/next (BBJ fuselage to be an E-7A).

The 2 Polish frames are still been modified at Bordeaux and not yet delivered to the PLF. One did some systems testing on the remote Swedish test ranges a few months back but is back at Bordeaux for further work.

I see the MAX 10 prototype is off the coast of Washington during some tests as BOE101 can’t help but notice the aircraft flying as low as 1300ft above the water. What kind of test would they be doing in this situation?

Good for testing?

Also why is the MAX 7 used to begin recertification testing instead of MAX 8 airframes (which the Chinese carriers have parked)?

My understanding is that MAX7 is equipped with all the testing equipment and the effects of MCAS (and the effects of the engines' position on CoG) are more pronounced on a 7 vs. 8 or 9 due to its shorter fuselage.

This will be the last MAX delivered to Ryanair Group until they are resumed around September-October.
Some of the already built frames (around 38 I believe) will have to wait until the company take them again, including the first units for Buzz.
It will be interesting to see if future deliveries for Malta Air are painted in Ryanair’s livery. We’ll have to wait and see.

it seems they did a reset at LN 8101 and build these in firing order, 8102, 8103 etc for airlines which can take them soon. But that leaves a whole bulk of aircraft, around 360 completed/undelivered ones in the region 7424-7900 and around 130 in the region 7905-8100 not even completed yet. These almost 500 aircraft might take years to complete and deliver based on how slow the deliveries are now from this block. Is that true, any comment welcome.
