AZAL Boeing 777-200LR, 4K-AI001 landed in Basel (BSL) today.
Going to dissapear for a few years recieving its VVIP cabin in Jet Aviation's hangar.

Apparently going to replace the VIP 767-300ER in the fleet. 4K-AI01. Will just need to take a "0" off of the 77L's registration once its cabine work is done.

Boeing didn’t book these as delivered in 2020 as there were no changes to the Unfilled Orderbook for the 777-300ER as at the end of December. The total remains 16.

Just to recap and to prompt any updates , if you have them.

The end of production of the hugely successful 777-300ER is imminent.

According to Boeing’s figures for the end of 2020 there are 16 unfilled orders.
The status of these is as follows ;

The last two, of four, ordered by Novus for British Airways were delivered earlier this month. These are LN 1675 and 1681.
Two frames for Aeroflot, previously in storage, are now being prepared for delivery. These are LN 1652 and 1654.
Two frames for KLM have been built and are being prepared for delivery. These are LN 1681 and 1686.
Two frames ordered by BOC have been built for Thai Airways and are being prepared for delivery or storage. These are LN 1683 and 1687.
One ‘Unidentified’ order has been built, painted for China Southern and is now in storage. This is LN 1641.
Two frames, one each on order for Aeroflot and BOC have not yet been reported in assembly and have no LN identified.
Five frames on order for Pakistan International are not expected to be built.

Cheers

Minor typo I think, as you have l/n 1681 for both BA and KLM.

Would Boeing still end 777 300 production if the 777 9 is running behind. ???

I'm quite sure Boeing will slot a 77W or 77L in the production line should any new orders come, but that's unlikely now given the travel downturn.
By the time travel picks up to pre-2020 levels again, the 779 will be in service.
So for now, it's only the two remaning 77W, the last 77L for Turmenistan ( l/n 1689 ? ) and lots more 77F's.
Unless PIA decide to take their order.

Surprised the PK frames not yet the cancelled at end of last year.

If deferred, with only 777F made, could these last five W's still the be built at the later stages?

All depends on the contract but there can be a lot of money tied up in an unfilled order. A cancellation is rarely good news for either the manufacturer or the customer. A lot of negotiation needed and can suit both parties to leave for later. Boeing would probably retain the capability to make more 777-300ERs but it would become uneconomic for small numbers.

Until PK is ready to take something else, it's in their interest to keep the order on-hand even if they have no intent of ever taking delivery.

Philippine Airlines had some 747-400s on order for the better part of a decade before they finally converted them to 777-300ERs.

It should be doable since the two models share so many parts and I believe the 777-9 and 777-300ER fuselage panels are effectively the same (the difference being the internal shaping to allow more space on the inside for the 777-9).

AFAIK only three (3) BOC Aviation , Lsd Thai , are ordered, two have confirmed line number allocations :
L/N 1683 C/N 66587 B777-300ER HS-TTA BOC Aviation, Lsd THAI AIRWAYS (WE866)
L/N 1687 C/N 66588 B777-300ER HS-TTB BOC Aviation, Lsd THAI AIRWAYS (WE867)

According your replies L/N 1689 and L/N 1690 have both been allocated to Thai ??????

Well the 777VIP was sold with both 777-200LR and 777-300ER as the underlying frame so Boeing formally lists them as such in their Orders and Deliveries reports.

Not necessarily; Turkmenistan flies both a 77L for the government (EZ-A777) and two as regular passenger planes (EZ-A778 and EZ-A779). I don't remember reading of this last 77L will be a VIP plane or regular passenger plane.
