DHL Air (UK) has started advertising for 777 pilots, saying they will soon be introducing the aircraft type into their fleet.

Anyone have anymore info? Apparently the Air Hong Kong deal has fallen through?

The United Kingdom is no longer an EU member and thus DHL Air UK can no longer operate intra-European flights after the transitional arrangement. DHL founds a new airline subsidiary in Austria which will receive all 757 from DHL Air UK, which in return will be expanded into an intercontinental airline with more 767F and 777F. DHL Air UK plans to use the Triple Seven from the beginning of 2022.

Interesting. Presumably the 777F's coming to DHL UK will be from the batch of 8 outstanding orders remaining, but what about the 767F's ? New frame order pending ? Or used frames converted ?

767s are conversions. One is getting ready for delivery now as per skyliner:

Boeing 767 -323(F) 29606 752 G-DHLC DHL Air ferried MLA-TLV 30jul21, N-reg after paint prior delivery ex N399AN

Do we know where the 777F's will be coming from? Part of the outstanding 777;s to which DHL have on order still?

Any Speculation or rumors as to which routes they will be covering once they are up and running?

No changes for the 777-300ER in Boeing’s figures, as of the end of July 2021.

838 777-300ERs have been sold.
827 have been delivered.
11 unfilled orders.

Six frames have been built but not delivered ;

LN1641. Listed as an ‘Unidentified’ order. Painted for China Southern and stored at Victorville.
LN1654. Ordered and painted for Aeroflot, in storage at Victorville for a second time.
LN1683. Ordered by BOC , has been built and painted for Thai Airways and stored at Victorville.
LN1687. Ordered by BOC, has been built and painted for Thai Airways and stored at Everett.
LN1690. Ordered by BOC, has its tail painted white and is stored at Everett.
LN1695. Ordered and painted for Aeroflot. Stored at Everett. Probably the last 777-300ER to be built.

According to this source only LN1654 flew in July when it transferred back to Victorville.

Five frames on order for Pakistan International are not expected to be built.

Looking at FR24, it went to base at SVO and entered service yesterday on domestic runs to SIP & KHV.

Looks like LN1654 was flown from Victorville to Everett on the 23rd, presumably delivery to Aeroflot will be soon.

VP-BFC due to go out for a spin today - not flown for over 2 months. Delivery for both maybe happening soon ? That would leave the CSN in storage and the 3x BOC/Thais. I wonder if Thai will take them as they seem to be in a terrible financial mess again.

I would assume so, with Aeroflot putting their delivered-but-stored-at-HKG 77W recently in service.

Could this be L/N 1703, previous earmarked to be going to China Cargo Airlines (WF336) ?

Boeing booked 2 new 777F orders in August.

One big one from an unidentified customer for 10, and also Fedex ordered 1 more.

Boeing received 30 new orders for the 777F this year so far, bringing the current 777F backlog to 61.

True they have some 744F which could need replacement but I'm thinking SQ and CI are prime candidates for the A350F.

I'll throw in DHL, they appear to like the 777F a lot.

With the Arbitration finished on Friday, which was the first domino to fall. Yesterday morning DHL extended Atlas contracted flying. That was domino two that fell. Domino three will be Atlas/Southern Air SOC in November. My theory has been that Atlas will attempt a 777 expansion once the CBA was arbitrated and SOC is completed.

So this wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

I don't think SQ plays "unidentified" game, the local regulators and SGX will require listed company to reveal their their material procurement.

I can 90% guarantee it's not ups. They do want to replace all of their MD-11's but right now they're looking at the 777xf and a350-900 cargo. Not at the 777f

Never heard of SQ and CI doing unidentified orders, also numbers likely too big for SQ (they only have 7 744Fs and there's been talk for a long time of them cutting freighters back further). CI numbers still wouldnt quite replace their 744Fs. As someone else mentioned both would be prime A350F customers.
Maybe the 10 is for a lessor?

Boeing must be able to deliver 777F aircraft at short notice, because the current output of the 777 FAL contains only one 777 sub- type : 777F

The last 777-9 scheduled at this moment was L/N 1688, after L/N 1695, the last 777-300ER, only 777F aircraft are scheduled for assembly, until 777-9 assembly will pick-up again in a later stage.

They have advertised for B777 Captains six days ago: https://www.aviationjobs.me/jobs/b777-c ... go-france/

Is it official now that they ordered the frames or is the order still unidentified?

It's still a rumour. TBH I actually expect CMA CGM to use 2nd hand 777s/convertibles instead. If they order now, it will take Boeing at least 18 months to build them. My guess would still go to something like FedEx, Aerologic-DHL or Atlant-Soyuz/Air Bridge.

In the past (pre digital age), the time between an order and delivery for a widebody was indeed 18 months or even longer.
In the present situation, with the 777-9 production on hold and with only one subtype (777F) in production, without the many different cabin layouts of the passenger 777's, the lead time for a 777 freighter will be far shorter, you only have to select your desired loading system (or even better : take the standard option)

That’s interesting to know, thanks.
IIRC LH Cargo also ordered their frame just a few months ago and now it’s already painted, so it seems possible.

Awesome photo!

Curious to know if there is any difference in term of techical spec between LH factory built B772F and the ex-EK Cargo D-ALFJ?

All 777F's are pretty standard, only the lay-out of the pantry and supernumerary seats are TBD by the customer, before delivery from the factory.
The largest differences are the cargo loading system installed (you can use the default Boeing supplied standard system or a BFE = buyer furnished system).
Most probably major and operational important differences will be rectified in the upcoming HMV of D-ALFJ and standarized to the Lufthansa installed systems.
But remember it's a leased aircraft and all changes must be in concert with the lessor (DAE)
