Set to be the first E-Jets E2 operator in Africa, Air Peace’s firm order, announced in April 2019, is now for 13 E195-E2s with 17 purchase rights for the same model.

Two more are due to be delivered in February.

Since April 2018, there are now 30 E190/195 E2 operating for Air Astana, Air Kiribati , Air Peace, Azul, Belavia, Binter Canarias, Helvetic and Widerøe.
KLM is the next to join the group with its first E195-E2 due to be delivered in February.

Excerpt (translated):

SÃO JOSE DOS CAMPOS - (SJK, SBSJ):

KLM's second Embraer E195-E2 made its first test flight at the plant in Brazil on February 10, 2021.
This is the PR-EAF, which will receive the Dutch registration PH-NXB. The first E2 for KLM was launched last month.

KLM has officially ordered 21 of these whisper jets, each of which can accommodate 132 passengers and uses up to 30 percent less fuel.
Behind the scenes, however, 4 options were redeemed, bringing the total to 25.
The E195-E2s will be used soon at Cityhopper.

This is why a large number of customers is desired as the more option sold, the more likely some would be redeemed. I had missed these options were exercised. This is good news for the E2.

What's the news on the E175-E2?

Is the flight test article flying?
When is the second flight test article going to fly?

No clue, E175-E2 is going off radar for months since the COVID-19.

Meanwhile all the active production aircraft of Embraer (minus Phenom, which are exclusively made at USA factory) flew together days ago, but E175-E2 isn't one of them

E175-E2 is flying almost everyday since June 2020. Sometimes twice a day.
Embraer uses code name "ENSAIO" (essay) + " YY number" for ATC propouse.

That might better translate here as “Test” I would say. Good to hear it is coming along! I wonder if there will be any movement on orders off the back of a positive flight test programme. Have there been any whispers about how it is performing against its benchmark?

Other question as we have someone from Embraer on board; is the production line of the Emb-190/195 (E1) closed? After #773 was delivered to Hop last september it seems there is no more activity there to be expected?

So it is on track to get the certification in 2022 or 2023.

As I know, the 175/190/195 Generation 1 are produced on the same line of the E2 jets. The production line was revamped some years ago to acommodate such flexibility.

Should be PH-NXB, like the first is PH-NXA.
Does anyone know the Code of their transponders? The flight following applications appear not to know these planes yet. Should be something like 485XXX

The E195 E-2 with KLM livery looks just stunning! Looks much longer and streched for some reason, in this particular livery.
The interiors look classy too, typical for the European legacies.

Has any airline taken this aircraft in its high density layout of about ~146 seats? Would be interesting to see the layout and seat pitch for that. And if they have a special config for that, just like the Airbus A320/321neo cabin flex style.

I wonder what the limit is for the E2 fuselage length. It is clear to me that its wings and engines have the potential to carry 10% more passengers. The 195E2 performs well at limited airports, such as SDU.

Hi Nean,

Some Azul´s "shuttle service" flights are being operated from CGH (SBSP) to SDU (SBRJ) on daily bases with the E195-E2
and the passengers love the comfort of the plane and its the large "wheels first" bins ...

It would be something like a modern, quiet MD-80. With a comparable range or even slightly better than the 195E1, but carrying almost 30 more passengers.

Nean,

Interesting is that the article is dated February 26, 2021 and tells us a story that happened in 2010.

What we could say is that the E195X was not feasible at that time, but now transformed, as you said, thanks to the PW GTF becoming the E195-E2.

The American Airlines wanted a 4,600km / 2,485nm range and a cabin configured for 130 "squeezed" passengers.
Today the E195-E2 has a range of 4,815km / 2,600nm, carrying 132 passengers with a far more comfortable pitch of 31".

The question is whether the MD-80 model, which were withdrawn by AA, would return to the company's plans and which could now be revived with the E-195E2 with consumption up to 40% lower and higher range ..

It would be something like a modern, quiet MD-80. With a comparable range or even slightly better than the 195E1, but carrying almost 30 more passengers.
Not exactly a new idea, but now the impressive GTF engine could do some magic:

Nean,

Interesting is that the article is dated February 26, 2021 and tells us a story that happened in 2010.

The existence of much more powerful engines, combined with less fuel consumption and a fuselage that sits higher suggests that this aircraft (? 196E2) could go up to 43.5 meters, or 3 additional rows. Even with this increase, it seems to me that it would be possible to respect the range of the 195E1 (2100 nm).

Interview from Mr. A Warner Rootliep, managing director of KLM Cityhopper, to FlightGlobal about the KLM and Cityhopper strategy for their fleet in short term.

Source: https://www.flightglobal.com/fleets/arr ... 2002032021

Highlights:

- due to the changed operating environment, both fleets, the E190-E1 will remain in the fleet along side with the E195-E2.
Previously, they were supposed do replace the E190-E1 fleet;
- the E195-E2 will replace mainline carrier´s Boeing 737-700 as leases expire;
- up to the the summer season, fleet of E-195-E2 will be 6 units;
- two or three will received now in 2023 from 2024 previous schedule;
- VIASAT in-flight connectivity will be added once the system is certificated for the E2.
