I wonder why MSN 285 is hopping between TLS and CHR and LDE in a time where OEM`s are burning cash ? Fuel for free ???

For keeping the aircraft in flying conditions, fuel is the least expensive part at this point.

When I look for example at MSN 187 which is in storage at LDE since September 2019 without any flight I was wondering what is behind MSN 285 flying ?
Why not keeping MSN 124 , 153 , 168 , 187 , all stored at LDE in "flying conditions ?

MSNs 124, 153, 168 and 187 belong to HX (Hong Kong Airlines), were all delivered, and are now stored at LDE. MSNs 283, 285, 308, 323 and 388 are all undelivered NTU frames from other Chinese airlines and are awaiting future delivery.

Many of the NTU`s are from HNA Group which ordered for HX too at the time ?
As far as I know MSN 388 belongs to Etihad Airways delivered in May 2020 flown TLS - BOD and in storage since

Correct on the HNA Group AFAIK.
My bad...I meant MSN 338, not 388!

Don`t worry I am a human too !
I simply was hoping that you , which provides us with information on a daily basis , had a clue why all those ALAFCO birds do all these flights ?
edit : Thank you for great job !

NTU means Airbus still owns the plane and is responsible for keeping in flying condition (which they do). The older frames are delivered but stored. That means the airline owns the frame and it is up to them to keep in flying condition and obviously HX has not been spending the money for regular test flights to do so.

I can`t predict or say for sure that there is no Airbus money involved in deals with HX or not !?

Delivered means it’s officially the airline’s plane and responsibility. It doesn’t matter where the airline got financing from.

Starlux of Taiwan is the ONLY airline I can think of who has -1000s on order but doesn't have any yet. Or does anyone know more.

Asiana have 9 on order though there must be a question mark over whether they will ever be built.
Iran Air?![]()
Japan Airlines (13)
LATAM (2)
